Wish I could find some of Hot Rod's old calls of the New Orleans Jazz 1976-1979, TV or Radio. It was a big part of my childhood and would love the chance to hear them again.
Im hot rod hundleys grandson tanner im one in the white jazz hat and the white shirt if you have any questions ill probally know it just me message and ill message you back. If you dont believe me ill make a video of me and him and post it on youtube
nice ceremony he has contributed to this game a bit. he is or was a good informed commentator that explained the game well. he did great things with cbs
So glad you posted this. I couldn't make it to the game to see this live... Hot Rod, you're the best! Games just aren't the same without your added touch and flair calling it.
Great voice, nobody compares to Hod Rod calling an NBA game.
In 1990, I called into Rock 103.5 FM and did a Hot Rod Hundley impersonation to win some Jazz/Knicks tickets. I had always loved to mimic his voice as a kid and it finally paid off.
Also, at the 7:00 mark of this video was one of the most exciting Jazz finished ever. Stockton's running shot won the game against the Bulls in which the Jazz had been down 8pts with 40 seconds left.
What a man!!! For any kid, like myself, that wants to broadcast, follow his example in everything you do. The man made mistakes, lived a colorful life, but I die, I wouldn't mind if people said I ended up like Hot Rod Hundley!!!
