@ilovemusikk4evah You are correct, there is no such thing as a 8GB 3rd Gen iPod Touch. Only the 32GB and 64GB models moved to 3rd Gen status when they received the internal hardware of an iPhone 3GS, the 8GB was sold alongiside with the older 2G hardware.

@basketballKeve Is your iPod Touch an 8GB version? If so, then you actually have an iPod Touch 2G, there was no 3G version of the 8GB iPod Touch, only the 32GB and 64GB got a hardware upgrade and become "Third Gen".

OK. I'm confused. I have the Iphone 3gs. If I enable tethering for my account, can I use my Iphone to provide internet service for my Ipad (1st gen, wifi only) if I don't have wifi available? @Hackermaster91 Unfortunately it's not free. You're gonna have to pay $20 more a month to be able to use the personal hotspot. If you have an unlimited plan with AT&T you're gonna have to eliminate the unlimited plan and get the $25 plan with 2GB of data and $20 more for the personal hotspot to be exact. In conclusion, you must have the 2GB data plan in order to get the personal hotspot working for you.
