  • search "flip turn" on youtube

  • @ToddDavis5050

yeah, i'd like to know that too.

  • Your comment is really old, so I'm sorry if this reply is out of the blue.

It's actually inevitable, but you can reduce it by trying to do somersaults only, without touching the wall. Take a deep breath and then let everything out, eventually try saving some breath when you stop getting water in your nose.

Lift your hip up, and tuck your chin in at once. Most people forget to tuck their chin and I even managed to do a lot of somersaults without tucking, but it definitely helps.

    Good luck.

  • @ToddDavis5050 look up how to flip turn

  • whenever ur head is in the water u need to blow air out ... blow the same amount of air u took while breathing...breath on every 2nd stroke, when ur suppose to take a breath dont get ur head out of the water TOO MUCH...that slows u down. ur head is suppose to lay down on water..rotate it to the left or right. hope this helps

  • @sharkingdog thanks mannn :) i think i was blowing out too much air while doing the actual stroke and i couldnt swim for very long and felt really bloated!

  • i always go to swimm the bravos's river ajuaaa!! iam the best:

  • everytime i breathe, i slow down :(

  • I suck at flipturns and breathing. any tips. i just started and im 12 years old. please HELP!

  • oh im 10, and im on an almost lil kid olympic team :O

Youll get better....but on your flipturns , try to stream line, and breathing, every three strokes should roll out good , and expand your oxigen flow to a compfortable speed.

  • you mean junior olympics?

  • right now im swimming 21 hrs a week

and freestyle is my weekest stroke any tips

  • Work on the kick first then the arms. u should be able to move easily by the kick only first, then integrate the arms.

Exhale ALL the air when your face down the water, this releases the toxic air inside ur lung and help u inhales fully and easily

Rotate the head to Inhale when your arm reach out each stroke. Reach out completely with arm AND shoulder.

Always keep ur head down horizontal. Half ur goggle should be below the water.,the head separate the water and give u space to breath in.

  • the breathing isn't a problem for me, I have trouble with timing of my strokes.

  • I go swimming in a group 5-7 times a week for 1 hour and I'm looking forward to become a competitive swimmer. I can do free except for the breathing. The air just isn't enough! I breath every 3 but still after 2 lengths I'm tired and can't do much more free till the end of the practice (but all other strokes).

  • well for your information i really do try and i'm good at it! i couldn't swim craw that good a month ago when i wrote that but now since i went swimming almost 24/7 i have learned how to do it and how to breath normally! i have a swimmer's body and i'm becoming better everyday! at least i have something to be proud of!!!

  • try breathing every other stroke... i breath every other stroke and i think its alot better than breathing every three strokes =P

  • yea i know it really is alot easier every other stroke! i used to breath that way but know i do it every 3

  • Just keep doing every 3, it'll get into muscle memory. And 4freexbox360 is right; 5-7 hrs a week isn't enough if you want to be a competitive swimmer.

  • ...yea thanks for the advise but is that why i win almost all competitions i ever go to? ofc i train harder now cuz i became a competitive swimmer and im in a team so... yea i train harder but i win the competitions

  • no offense, but it doesn't matter how fast you are when you are 12, try to see if you can be top when you are 18. And what state do you live in cause that wouldn't cut it in Pennsylvania.

  • it also wouldnt cut it in cali neither, ESPECIALLY when ur swimmin in sunset league like me, one of the most prestigious leagues in the nation.

  • in what state????

  • This is ok. I was wishing he will go into details as to how to turn and breathe without slowing down (that's my weakness).

  • I like this teaching aid, nice job.
