The comment about anesthesia is true to a degree, SOME dogs do die under surgical procedures, but it's often due to the use of certain anesthetics like sodium pent.

If you find a vet that uses isofluorane gas its THE safest and soon as it's turned off the dog awakens. It doesnt stress the kidneys or liver as do the injectable anesthestics. It is more expensive.

Good video helpful ideas on using electric toothbrush. I have found it takes a bit of time to add the whining electric toothbrus to the routine, so don't get frustrated!
