  • how many are there?

  • I am working to have a tank that great looking. Currently I have about 20 cardinals and 20 rummynose and it is great to watch them swim around they really add life to a tank especially for natural aquariums.

  • Hi,

This tank is beautiful, i was wondering if you had any updated videos of the rummy nose and if they still schooled alot.

    Regards,

    D

  • i want some i always liked small fish that shoal

  • Awesome Video

    what size tank is that?

i love seeing tetras swim in schools

  • Nice tank! I love rummy nose tetras! Very nice job on planting the tank. What are the other fish in there?

  • WOW! amazing tank..phenomenol work... This video has sold me on rummy noses! Im currently setting up a 65g community tank and im going to go for 24 rummys...I would be delighted if they look in any way as beautiful as these

  • Wen u r addin new fish do u take sum waterout the tank so it dnt overflow with water from the bag?

  • did u catch theas ones

  • WOW!

  • looks great with a massive school

  • what is the other type of fish that is in there that looks black?

  • Rummynose races! LOL They really seem to be enjoying all the room they have.

Gorgeous fish and tank. 5 stars!

  • hehe, you're right, they do seem to stick to the glass. i guess that isn't necessarily bad though, at least you can always see them! i love the schooling look of these fish and can't wait to get my 6 foot to put them in! i am hoping to get about 20. not on their own, of course! lol. you have a stunning tank there, great job =]

  • gorgeous tank!

  • Very nice

  • woooooahhh, beautiful tank you got there!!

  • A couple of months later, I can say they school a lot less and take off in 2 or 3 groups often. They also just "hang around" a lot.

  • @heerscher they must of paired.

  • @heerscher , I guess fish get lazy too. )

  • Your aquarium is amazing!

  • Holy crap thats a huge tank. How much did it cost to setup?

  • Hey heerscher,

    How big is your tank?

BTW this really inspired me to go with mass rummynose tetras for my own tank.

You set an example for how real schooling fish should be done!

  • Thanks :)

Tank is 3 meter, 10 feet i think.

There are 75 in it now, i think it can have some more. Today i will add some Discus, curious to see how that will influense the schooling behaviour, footage will follow :P

  • My guess is that the rummynoses will school a LOT tighter. They might become a snack for discus though. Adding to favorites.

  • Well, i hope not :)

I have some goldtetra's inthere aswell (couldn't catch them out) and they are smaller then the rummy noses, so i hope they get them instead. There are also a lot of endlers in it (poecilia wingei) also snack size :)

  • Well I guess it depends on how fast those fish swim! Smaller fish might be quicker!

  • damn, that is one sexy tank :O

    and yes! get more!!! :D

  • do they shoal all the time? Do they split up after a period of time when they feel safe?

  • I hope they do :)

This is only 3rth day in the tank but they stay pretty close.

I want to add some more tho, the more the closer ive been told :)

  • They shoal all time. Hemmigrammus is one of only some real shoalfishes, like the saltwater herring.

  • Well, they don't.

Its a nice story, but in reality they fall apart aswell.

Even with angelfish and discusfish in the tank now. Maybe they stay close if you have 10 or 20, but if you have more, they are everywhere

  • Ok, but probably they are bemused because of the other tetras?
