Tina seems very upset by the interruptions, the defensive posture even...but referring to origins and creative forces, no band (speaking as a songwriter/composer/musician) can work together and make anything useful or as meaningful and soulful as this band did without some cohesive elements. Strong egos, strong forces, strong performance. The band was too strong and intellectual. Their brains clashed eventually the way I see it and Byrne solo with all control, much deeper, and less logical. IMO.
Jerry Harrison, please shut up and stop interrupting Tina Weymouth, the quiet and charismatic woman who helped, as much as Byrne, actually defined Talking Heads. Her insights sparkle, are less self-referential and actually add to our knowledge of the band. Plus she's still got it big-time...
@RoboSlater please tell me you're not serious. i love tina but jerry and david made this band what it was. byrne is one of the greatest artistic geniuses of the last 100 years. you'd be amazed how few of the bass parts on the albums were actually tina playing
@steelyd2 Yes David Jerry and Brian Eno played most of the bass parts But I read an interview with Eno and he said They only got tina to play parts that were to difficult for them to play . Tina is one of the great bass players in pop music . Creatively it was almost entirely Byrne .
@steelyd2 if it was true that tina didn't pull her weight, then they would not have been able to pull it off live. but they were one of the great live bands and tina absolutely proved it on stage.
anyway, that kind of comment from a steely dan fan? really? have you applied that sort of criticism to fagen? there was a reason they never used to play out ...
@neisserj they didn't pull it off live, that's why they toured with 2 bass players and loads of backing musicians. this was the only tour they didn't take busta jones with them on bass and that's only because they were playing less of the complex stuff from RIL. you made my point for me and if you've seen steely dan live in the past 10 years you'd understand fagen is a world class talent

Annoying at 2:20 when Jerry interrupts Tina, and she's the one saying "Oh, sorry". I wanted to hear more from her!
