Perhaps Sen. Menendez, as chair of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, can explain the $100,000 in campaign contributions his committee received from Madoff. Also why his Democratic colleagues, Schumer, Clinton, Lautenberg, Wyden and Markey in particular happened to receive such large contributions from Madoff. And why the Madoff contributions to Democratic party members exceeded contributions to Republicans by nearly ten to one? Why were Democrats favored so overwhelmingly by Madoff?
