Extras was a great series. It captured the struggles of real people trying to make it in the world, and it was funny as hell. Which is what he`s portrayed in recent films he has made. Still the shallow and superficial style humor like Larry Davids is trully present in what he`s done

You know what I like about this? That Ricky's experience of American stand-ups at the moment is exactly the same as Stewart Lee's. I've been wondering if Lee was just exaggerating for his bit (I don't get much chance to see any circuit stand-ups from the US myself), so nice to have that cleared up for me. :)

IMAGINE A FISH WITH PART FINS, part feet with the fins evolving (transitioning) into feet. What survival benefit would there be? APES ARE QUITE COMFORTABLE IN HOW THEY WALK, just as humans are quite comfortable in how they walk. Even a slight change in the position of a muscle or bone, for either, would be excruciatingly painful and would not be an advantage for survival. There's no hard evidence that humans evolved from ape-like creatures anymore than there's hard evidence that apes evolved from four-legged-pawed dog-like creatures. NEW SPECIES: Although new species have come into existence, they don't carry any new genes. They've become new species only because they can't be crossed back with the original parent stock for various biological reasons. A biological "kind" allows for new species but not new genes. Nature has no ability to invent new genes for new traits. Only limited variations and adaptations are possible in nature, and all strictly within a biological "kind" (i.e. varieties of dogs, cats, etc.).

ALL REAL EVOLUTION ( i.e. varieties of dogs, cats, etc.) in nature is the expression, over time, of already existing genes. Evolution is possible only if there’s information (genes) directing it. Only variations of already existing genes are possible, which means only limited evolution and adaptations are possible. A show called TFI Friday on the same channel as this was on was once a live show, due to a drunk guest Shaun Ryder swearing at 6pm over and over (publicity stunt for the show) they brought in a delay for censorship, the show was later ended.
Since then Ryder is banned from the channel and the delay is brought in for some shows. Usually pre 8pm is censored unless by accident.

You know what I like about this? That Ricky's experience of American stand-ups at the moment is exactly the same as Stewart Lee's. There's not much of his stuff recorded, but Daniel Kitson is one of the few who took stand up to the same level of artistry, to my mind. He purposefully doesn't record shows, though.. no doubt you've seen all there are.. it doesn't take long, sadly. :)

LD is a comedy God. Curb is the best show of all time, period. seinfeld is about 2nd and both ran forever. as for gervais I liked the office but only 12 episodes and it hasnt lasted that well. extras was mostly awful just 1 dimensional people and situations. in ameria you have the advantage of producers galore as the yanks back creative people the brits do not. they rely more on who you know. its a privelige for grvais to meet this comedy God
