DIY avr usb dance pad in action

hey im doing a game design project using unity or maybe flash, im wanting to use a dance mat as a controller, do you have any tips or know if it can be done by any chance??

I see its not stepmania, is it better or worse, or how is it different ?

It is "In The Groove". It is more professional looking and the set of music is nice, but it is based on stepmania.

@artem1kuchin So basicaly they just copied stepmania and some changes on it. Was stepmania the first or that is also a copy from another similar program ?

Well, yeah. Stepmania is an open source project. You can build your based on Stepmania.
