You`ve done a great job on this, `Higgie` and it was very iteresting to view even for a non musician such as myself. Hey - It's pretty much the nicest Jazz I've ever played. The guy is a master when it comes to building a good bass. I gave it to my guitar tech to have it set up etc, and he said the woods used were some of the best he has seen, and it plays like a dream. The sound is unreal, it's the most versatile passive bass I've ever come across! I hope that answers your question!
The pickup and controls are made by Villex. It's all passive. I can assure you it's a great bass, but they are custom order only unless you find one second hand!

I've never heard of Shuker Bass until I came across it when I was reading about JJ Burnel.

What are the pick ups on this bass?
I'm in Canada and I haven't seen a Shuker Bass, but I may get one in the future. I have no way of trying them out first, though.
