This is why you use 1 single pole 20 amp for both.The average disposal and dishwasher together pull about 14 amp maximum. This is overkill, and no real electrician does this in the field. This is after 26 years of experience and my father has been in business since the 1970's. We hook up about 500-800 each house of dishwashers and disposals every year. If you go into thousands of residential homes all over the united stated they do them this way.
@avgrieco You are correct on the amperage draw, but the NEC is quite specific in detailing that a dish/disp outlet is double dedicated with a two pole breaker. It's the National code.
