No actually I don't get it.. The impact is the same with these boots and with regular shoes...try looking at it compared to one of your videos with shod horses, there's no difference...
Actually its to do with the impact force. Metal shoes don't allow the foot the properly absorb the impact where as these boots do and so does barefoot.
However, I still do shoe my horse as she has sensitive feet otherwise and those type of boots would probably be destroyed fast for the type of riding I do in the summer.
Still good to be aware though and it is beautifully filmed.
@SmallvilleFanatic600 - I know all that stuff, that has nothing to do with what I wrote. It's the fact that this is supposed to be the reason why one should chose barefoot (= no shoes), and the horse is wearing shoes (I know it's plastic, but still ..)
It still has to do with what you wrote. Point is in the vid you can still see how the the hoof absorbs with impact even with the boots and the horses back feet don't have any type of boots on. Had the horse had metal shoes you would have seen the shock travel more up its leg.
owhh wow. This should be in a very cool ediited video where you can realy see how the horse enjoys and loves barefoot and on the other side the impact of shot horses.

Also, he is only wearing shoes on his fronts. His backs are completely barefoot if you are going to be technical.
