To me, MTV and videos in general are an afterthought to music. In many situations the band will have limited influence over the video production and a band like Jimmy Eat World probably has a pretty small budget.

I don't waste my time on videos or MTV anyway. If I like what I hear, I roll with it. I don't get caught up in superficial things like how the band looks or if they dance well.

Music video is dead by the way (at least on Television) bc rap/pop artist and director/producers forgot what an art it was to actually make viewers think about the message of the song. Instead the were too obsessed with money shots aka fame, glamour, violence, and played out sex roles.
