I want to spit on Spitzer. What a hypocritical, arrogant, piece of crap. He used all his power to go after supposed criminals. Now we have to ask ourselves, did he prosecute on the facts, or did he prosecute on the fact that it might lead to power.
this is a sad tragic story....just shows what ultimate arrogance and conviction that you are above the law can lead into. Its like the 'in' thing for all women with their cheating disgraced husbands in public office, to bear twice the humiliation of these weak men's act, by being paraded in front of the media looking demoralized.
as supposed 2 the morally and ethically upstanding Republicans....with their elected Congress men sexually eliciting under aged teenage page boys, or fanatic Evangelical leaders spouting hate against gays while getting serviced by male prostitutes with little Extacy just for a kick.
Well, then you've got the other die hard liberals like me that also defended David Vitter and Larry Craig. I get your point though. A left-winger will attack them, but give Spitzer a pass. But why are you saying DEMOCRATS are buffoons when you just said even deocrats are not supporting Spitzer?
Politically it is not advantageous to support Spitzer. Also my understanding with Spitzer is that he was even angering other Democrats prior to this scandal.
Spitzer is obviously one. And all of the Democrats endorsing Obama like he was the greatest thing since sliced bread when he is essentially inexperienced with questionable associations. Since he lacks experience he is trying to run claiming he has judgement and unity skills. Yet he selects a church which stands for black values, black etc., preaches hate against whites and USA, gives an award to Farrakhan for "greatness". Obama likes to say "change" but he cannot even change his church.
I smell politics and Karl Rove in this mess. What bank would turn in a governor for transferring money? Surely Spitzer knows that 10,000 will be reported so I doubt that he transferred that much at one time. I want to know what bank official started this or whether it was a fishing expedition from the attorney generals office.
Why does the wife always stand next to the cheeting husband when they do these press conferences? I'd say "SEE YA!" rather than act like a supportive wife of an asshole husband.
As a gay person who is afraid of commitment, I want to thank Mr. Spitzer. His selfishness has ensured that his pledge to legalize gay marriage in NY state is dead for many years. I am safe!
Funny how quickly this got out. A Democrat who was "morally corrupted." How about the Republicans who didn't fall victim to the flesh but victim to moral depravity?
donottake, I don't mean to be confrontational but, the US has been under Republican rule for almost 8 years now...how's the economy? Do you believe the Bush admin has been fiscally responsible.....just think...cost plus no bid contracts, cost of war, spending appx 4 million dollars just to send citizens a notice in the mail informing them of the stimulus package rebate... just to name a few points.
I don't think it's been made clear whether it was personal money or government money. I could be wrong. Distasteful? Yes but does it really matter how he spends his paycheck?

At least he resigned. I doubt David Vitter
and Larry Craig are going to spawn any
integrity like that any time soon.
At least he stepped down, but what is he
really guilty of? Being a hypocrite like
every single person leaving comments on
here including myself?

I am convinced democrats are buffoons. As amusing as the Spitzer scandal is it is even more amusing watching die-hard liberals trying to defend him.

You just made my point. Even the democrats are not supporting Spitzer or using his scandal to knock Republicans. Die-hard liberals never miss a beat.

Prostitution should be legal. Human trafficking should be punished severely. Bizarrely, people don't seem to get the difference.

Glad to see the DOJ going after local prostitution cases. Maybe they should open a David Vitter investigation.

Democrats pay $5000 for good looking women in a hotel. Republicans pay $20 for a homeless man in a men's restroom.

because democrats understand the value of hard work and doing what's best for the state they represent.
