Not a bad review but the Hulk that tore through Asgard was not "base strength" hulk. Loki knew what fueled the Hulk and he was manipulating that rage as well as Hulk's movements. It was basically Hulk being egged on by the god of mischief, without Bruce to restrain him.Scary. This was Hulk at optimum power. I do agree through that Thor could have put up more of a fight on his home soil
listen people, imagine yourself as Hulk OR Thor. Which hero would you be? Would you be the beast that can barely lift a mountains, move tectonic plates, break the eastern board of the planet? OR would you be a god that wields a powerful weapon to DESTROY a planet, godblast at beings much tougher than him, absorb enough energy to destroy a 5th of the Marvel Continuity? Think!!!
originally thor hammer was so heavy that no one could lift it, BUT it does not prove that hulk can lift it, it proves exacly the oposite, it is so heavy that NO ONE can lift it, and thor is able to spin it around and actualy fly with it, so it mean that he is physically, strongr than ANY marvel character, more than hulk can ever get, the only reson why hulk can actualy survive a fight with thor is that he holds back, but in this movie it didnt look so, so the movie is really badritten...
Hulk along with wolverine (who have to be my favorites) are way to overpowered! Yes they might be able to beat whomever but not with such ease as Hulk beat Thor here. The fights should be closer with the victor winning by shear stubborness/guts/luck. Or like back in the day the "heroes" beat the "villians" of course but against other "heroes" they fought to a draw usually because i guess what makes them "heroes" keeps them going at it.

Lady Sif had the most decent fight scene in this animated movie. She certainly stands up to the title of Shield Maiden. And yes this wasa ridiculous portrayal of Thor. Such a wasted opportunity to present a character in an animation.

This movie is just an insult and slap to the face to the whole of Asgard, marvel Thor and to me as one who grew up with the North mythology , heck I pretty much believed in a way more in those Gods rather than Jesus (back when I was feeling a bit religious).

That is not how mind control works. When you are mind controlled you know what you are doing but can't do anything about it. That gives him a 30:1 gravity ratio but the inertia of a mule ... and mules are hard to move. so batman has reg human strength so he can throw a mule... even if he could throw superman he wouldnt be able to very far bc he has normal strength. as far as hulk throwing thor....wut CANT hulk lift? so of course he will throw around 640lbs like its a baseball!

dude you need ot pay attention to the detales. Yes, Loki is controling the Hulk, but without Bruce Baner the Hulk is pure rage, thereby granting him limitless strength. then there's the fact that when Thor realizes that it is Loki contorling the Hulk, he is already worn down, thus the reason he continues to pumel him. And I might add that a major portions of Thor's power comes from his hammer.

The reason is because with Banner out of the Hulk and nobody there to hold the hulk back he went straight to the peak of his ablities and that is why he took out asgard so easily.
2 things, Hulk becomes stronger when Angry because that's how banner percieves hulk, it's his rage and anger manifested thru gamma radiation so perhaps Loki the god of mischief, can generate more power thru hulk by being mischeivous, just a theory but yeh Thor in any case being bashed around is absurd.
And 2, In the Original Hulk Vs Thor fight, Green Hulk beats Thor with Mjolnir and he can pick up the hammer because he's deemed worthy by Odin, the same as captain america was in the avengers.
the reason THOR got whipped around is because thor knew bruce is hulk, so he didn't want to fight he friend, while he was being mind controlled by LOKI.
sometimes you have to wonder how old the writers are,because it seems that on many levels they don`t really know much about the characters they are writeing for..that they don`t even bother to learn about the characters abilities*what they can an can`t do*..they just throw a story together that changes all of what us fans who have been reading these comics for years know about the characters..talk about out of touch!

Thor is More Powerful and it has been said, Hulk is stronger. But remember, Thor holds back against Mortals. And Thor has overwhelmed a Banner-less Hulk before after that Hulk tore through the Avengers. Thor has never used the full extent of his powers on Hulk, because Thor can fire Godblasts which have enough power to destroy entire Galaxies. If Thor were to use that against Hulk, he would win. Thor's base strength is higher than Hulk's. And Thor could end the fight before Hulk got too strong.

@T52487 Thor's base strength has been stated to be over 100 tons and possibly without any limit, Thor has lifted up the weight of several planets, picked up and threw the odinsword, picked up the Midgard Serpent, destroyed an entire planet just by punching Beta Ray Bill really hard, Hulk has never destroyed a planet by punching someone really hard, Thor once fought a celestial so hard the planet close by almost got destroyed. Thor has no limits.

They also battle in Journey into Mystery 112(their first fight) Defenders volume 1 #10 Hulk 255 and Hulk 422 was the Red Norvell Thor, equal to Thor in power, but not the real Thor. I don't recall a fight in Thor volume 2 #73 though.
I think # is the King/Lord Thor arc by Dan Jurgens that had Lord Thor kill Hulk and Thing at the same time but I don't count that since Thor erased that time line so it will never come to being.
Really there has been no clear winner in any comic. Hulk Annual 2001 is arguable, Thor had the Hulk out for a short period, seconds, maybe a minute, but Hulk came right back and could have KOed Thor had he kept beating on him, but he walked away and as he walked away Thor slowly got back up. If anything Thor 385 is closer to a Hulk victory than Thor as Thor seemed pretty bruised and battered at the end.
I agree the most of what you said (I find it refreshing that a hulk fan being civil unlike nedmeg123 or nutjob as I like to call him) anyway I find funny when the story calls for Thor to learn "Humility" Thor 385 and Hulk annual 2001 he gets shown in a bad light and as you said bruised and battered but when its a good old slugfest like most of their fights Thor doesn't seem to get bruised up.

Either character could beat the other on any given day. Obviously based on my handle the Hulk is my fav Marvel character, but I also like Thor, he's in my top 5, not sure where though. Actually the annual said, the Hulk may well be stronger, but Thor proved more powerful, so again it is debatable but IMHO that are still peers in strength that has been shown for 40 plus years comic continuity.

When hulk was under the control of loki he was getting stronger they because Locki was in control of his body not mind. So it could be argued that the hulk continued to increase in strength quite rapidly because he was fighting loki from the moment he was put under control and then continued to get stronger as the fight progressed.
The hammer being picked up thing? Captain America picked it up at least once that I remember. How Hulk lifting the hammer when Loki was making him reach for it would have been stupid.

@alexcage08 Hulk's been beaten in the comics the Abomination has done it and on occasion the army as they captured him and made him a prisoner in one story he was encased in ice and had to wait for it to melt to break out. The Thing also temporarily held him in bridge cables he had to lose his temper and it took him time to break out so he's not all powerful.

True...finally someone who reads up on the Hulk. Hulk is my favorite character, alway has been. It's crazy when guy's make comments like the Hulk gets tired. He doesn't...he does not build up latic acid in muscles like normal humans. His healing powers are superior to Wolverines. He's shows a high resistence and awareness to magical spells or common earthly diseases. He can defeat Thor but it will be a long battle, not like the short story.
No that's not how it works. Bruce Banner has multiple personality dissorder. Hulk is a split personality. If you remove Banner he's still the same. Because he's his own self.

@blowshimselfupdude, I'd refer you to issue #110 Vol. 3 of the Incredible Hulk, as well as the issues where mindless Hulk was rampaging around. While Hulk/Bruce certainly does have MPD, they have gone back to their roots in recent years. It got out of hand in early 2000s with the "thousand hulks MPD" storyline. With that forgotten we have the more familiar Gravage Hulk, and I know Grey Hulk and Savage have appeared in recent years. Which tells me Hulk is an adaptive reflex to a situation.

Read volue 5 of Hulk Visionaries Peter David. It has Gray Hulk, Green Hulk, and Banner fighting eachother. And it's very clear they are all spereate beings. Hulk is not a beast of rage. Only people who don't read the Hulk woudl say that.
i did enjoy this overall. i did like the story, but just like the reviewer, i didn't like that hulk was beating the hell outta thor so easily. i don't know much about thor honestly but i accept the fact that thor is a more disciplined fighter since he is essentialy a warrior which is why i also liked the thor against hulk fight in "ultimate avengers "

Maybe the Hulk was inside very, very angry, because he was missing Banner (before you laugh, in the Past Banner and Hulk were also once seperated, and the Wild Hulk could take out the combined forces of: Iron Man, Hercules, Namor, Wonder Man, She Hulk, Cap, Captain Marvel, Tigra, Wasp, Black Knight,Hawkeye, Mockingbird and Doc Samson. He was only beaten,because his body disintegrated, due to his seperation from Banner.
I am chocking this one up to 1. Hulk without Banner = Rage personified and 2. Loki did have magical control of him so maybe he was augmenting the Hulk's powers through magic.
1. But Hulk isn't rage personified. I mean people make him angry. He isn't just angry to be angry. He wants to be alone people get in the way of that and are constantly attacking him.
2. But he clearly isn't augmenting his powers because Hulk gets angry and breaks free when Loki starts to get angry so Hulk's power is clearly still in relation to Loki's anger. Plus if Loki was magically making Hulk stronger they would have said so (I asume)
Bruce Banner wants people to leave him alone because he truly doesn't wanna hurt anybody, but Hulk represents his rage. Hulk without Banner pretty much is angry just to be angry, because that's the side of Banner's personality that he represents. It's like that Star Trek episode where Kirk gets split into two people. :)
But rage is the fuel for his power. And you did ask how Hulk was able to defeat Thor. It wasn't by getting more and more scared or more and more horny. It was by getting angrier and angrier, which he could, because Banner was no longer there to restrain him.
Holy, I see what you mean by the over-statement of the Hulk's strength. Plus, I don't know for certain if Thor has access to the Odinforce in this movie.
In the Adam Warlock & the Infinity Watch, Asgards defenders are able to hold back the entire Infinity Watch, Doctor Strange, & the Silver Surfer. Only when Thanos decides to lend the Infinity Watch assistance do they it pass the gates.

Not a bad review but the Hulk that tore through Asgard was not "base strength" hulk. Loki knew what fueled the Hulk and he was manipulating that rage as well as Hulk's movements. It was basically Hulk being egged on by the god of mischief, without Bruce to restrain him.Scary. This was Hulk at optimum power. I do agree through that Thor could have put up more of a fight on his home soil

Hulk along with wolverine (who have to be my favorites) are way to overpowered! Yes they might be able to beat whomever but not with such ease as Hulk beat Thor here. The fights should be closer with the victor winning by shear stubborness/guts/luck. Or like back in the day the "heroes" beat the "villians" of course but against other "heroes" they fought to a draw usually because i guess what makes them "heroes" keeps them going at it.

Actually, the Hulk WAS getting angrier. Remember that Anchatress (or what ever her name was) was struggling to keep her spell going because the Hulk was fighting back. This means that whilst Loki was in control of the mind, the body was still acting as normal and getting stronger not because the Loki was in control, or the Hulk was getting at the asgardians, but that the Hulk was getting mad at Loki and the spell

@agolosha I'd say the ave weight on Krypton was 6000 kg, and and he weighs a measly 200 kg here. That gives him a 30:1 gravity ratio but the inertia of a mule ... and mules are hard to move. so batman has reg human strength so he can throw a mule... even if he could throw superman he wouldnt be able to very far bc he has normal strength. as far as hulk throwing thor....wut CANT hulk lift? so of course he will throw around 640lbs like its a baseball!

dude you need ot pay attention to the detales. Yes, Loki is controling the Hulk, but without Bruce Baner the Hulk is pure rage, thereby granting him limitless strength. then there's the fact that when Thor realizes that it is Loki contorling the Hulk, he is already worn down, thus the reason he continues to pumel him. And I might add that a major portions of Thor's power comes from his hammer.

The reason is because with Banner out of the Hulk and nobody there to hold the hulk back he went straight to the peak of his ablities and that is why he took out asgard so easily.

2 things, Hulk becomes stronger when Angry because that's how banner percieves hulk, it's his rage and anger manifested thru gamma radiation so perhaps Loki the god of mischief, can generate more power thru hulk by being mischeivous, just a theory but yeh Thor in any case being bashed around is absurd.
And 2, In the Original Hulk Vs Thor fight, Green Hulk beats Thor with Mjolnir and he can pick up the hammer because he's deemed worthy by Odin, the same as captain america was in the avengers.

Thor is More Powerful and it has been said, Hulk is stronger. But remember, Thor holds back against Mortals. And Thor has overwhelmed a Banner-less Hulk before after that Hulk tore through the Avengers. Thor has never used the full extent of his powers on Hulk, because Thor can fire Godblasts which have enough power to destroy entire Galaxies. If Thor were to use that against Hulk, he would win. Thor's base strength is higher than Hulk's. And Thor could end the fight before Hulk got too strong.

@T52487 Thor's base strength has been stated to be over 100 tons and possibly without any limit, Thor has lifted up the weight of several planets, picked up and threw the odinsword, picked up the Midgard Serpent, destroyed an entire planet just by punching Beta Ray Bill really hard, Hulk has never destroyed a planet by punching someone really hard, Thor once fought a celestial so hard the planet close by almost got destroyed. Thor has no limits.

They also battle in Journey into Mystery 112(their first fight) Defenders volume 1 #10 Hulk 255 and Hulk 422 was the Red Norvell Thor, equal to Thor in power, but not the real Thor. I don't recall a fight in Thor volume 2 #73 though.

Really there has been no clear winner in any comic. Hulk Annual 2001 is arguable, Thor had the Hulk out for a short period, seconds, maybe a minute, but Hulk came right back and could have KOed Thor had he kept beating on him, but he walked away and as he walked away Thor slowly got back up. If anything Thor 385 is closer to a Hulk victory than Thor as Thor seemed pretty bruised and battered at the end.

Either character could beat the other on any given day. Obviously based on my handle the Hulk is my fav Marvel character, but I also like Thor, he's in my top 5, not sure where though. Silver Surfer is #2. Deadpool is in there somewhere and it may be a 3 way tie between Beta Ray Bill, Hercules, and Thor haha. Hoping Marvel does more Bill stuff.

You forget the Loki innately hates Thor, Loki's rage fed the Hulk. So base hulk, plus loki's rage...there's the hulks power increase.

Actually the annual said, the Hulk may well be stronger, but Thor proved more powerful, so again it is debatable but IMHO that are still peers in strength that has been shown for 40 plus years comic continuity.

When hulk was under the control of loki he was getting stronger they because Locki was in control of his body not mind. So it could be argued that the hulk continued to increase in strength quite rapidly because he was fighting loki from the moment he was put under control and then continued to get stronger as the fight progressed.

The hammer being picked up thing? Captain America picked it up at least once that I remember. How Hulk lifting the hammer when Loki was making him reach for it would have been stupid.

@alexcage08 Hulk's been beaten in the comics the Abomination has done it and on occasion the army as they captured him and made him a prisoner in one story he was encased in ice and had to wait for it to melt to break out. The Thing also temporarily held him in bridge cables he had to lose his temper and it took him time to break out so he's not all powerful.

Not true. Hulk does not get tired or build up latic acid. You guy's really need to read up on the Hulk. Also to the guy that put up the download. Hulk is also not acceptable to magical powers. Jeez you guy's comment on characters in the Marvel Universe and your missing important facts. Read up on the Hulk. Also his base strength was always stronger than "The Thing". The Thing lifts around 85 tons. Hulk in calm state starts at 90 tons...were talking savage hulk here.

he does not get tired. the new hulk vs wolverine short movie is not entirely accurate. they made it that way so that the fight is a little more even. read up on Hulk's profile. He can be injured but as for adrenaline he does not get tired. Also he soon recovers from injuries. Your comments are contradictory. You state its a marvel universe movie but when you comment about Hulk vs Thor you state the writers don't understand the Hulk.

And so is Hulk his 'own self'. Multiple personalities are complex. The so called "multiple personality" hasen't the problem, the CORE personality does. I know, I have this disorder.
Remove Banner, Hulk can, and has run free. Google it. Banner will remain the same when separated from Hulk, but not the derivative persona.
Hulk went through this in the 70's 80's and 90's. I know, I bought the comic then.

True...finally someone who reads up on the Hulk. Hulk is my favorite character, alway has been. It's crazy when guy's make comments like the Hulk gets tired. He doesn't...he does not build up latic acid in muscles like normal humans. His healing powers are superior to Wolverines. He's shows a high resistence and awareness to magical spells or common earthly diseases. He can defeat Thor but it will be a long battle, not like the short story.

Banner does control Hulk's power. He is able to make him weaker and stronger at the same time.

No that's not how it works. Bruce Banner has multiple personality dissorder. Hulk is a split personality. If you remove Banner he's still the same. Because he's his own self.

@blowshimselfupdude, I'd refer you to issue #110 Vol. 3 of the Incredible Hulk, as well as the issues where mindless Hulk was rampaging around. While Hulk/Bruce certainly does have MPD, they have gone back to their roots in recent years. It got out of hand in early 2000s with the "thousand hulks MPD" storyline. With that forgotten we have the more familiar Gravage Hulk, and I know Grey Hulk and Savage have appeared in recent years. Which tells me Hulk is an adaptive reflex to a situation.

Read volue 5 of Hulk Visionaries Peter David. It has Gray Hulk, Green Hulk, and Banner fighting eachother. And it's very clear they are all spereate beings. Hulk is not a beast of rage. Only people who don't read the Hulk woudl say that.

i did enjoy this overall. i did like the story, but just like the reviewer, i didn't like that hulk was beating the hell outta thor so easily. i don't know much about thor honestly but i accept the fact that thor is a more disciplined fighter since he is essentialy a warrior which is why i also liked the thor against hulk fight in "ultimate avengers "

Regarding that Hulk beat Thor so easily.
Maybe the Hulk was inside very, very angry, because he was missing Banner (before you laugh, in the Past Banner and Hulk were also once seperated, and the Wild Hulk could take out the combined forces of: Iron Man, Hercules, Namor, Wonder Man, She Hulk, Cap, Captain Marvel, Tigra, Wasp, Black Knight,Hawkeye, Mockingbird and Doc Samson. He was only beaten,because his body disintegrated, due to his seperation from Banner.

I am chocking this one up to 1. Hulk without Banner = Rage personified and 2. Loki did have magical control of him so maybe he was augmenting the Hulk's powers through magic.

1. But Hulk isn't rage personified. I mean people make him angry. He isn't just angry to be angry. He wants to be alone people get in the way of that and are constantly attacking him.
2. But he clearly isn't augmenting his powers because Hulk gets angry and breaks free when Loki starts to get angry so Hulk's power is clearly still in relation to Loki's anger. Plus if Loki was magically making Hulk stronger they would have said so (I asume)

Bruce Banner wants people to leave him alone because he truly doesn't wanna hurt anybody, but Hulk represents his rage. Hulk without Banner pretty much is angry just to be angry, because that's the side of Banner's personality that he represents. It's like that Star Trek episode where Kirk gets split into two people. :)

Holy, I see what you mean by the over-statement of the Hulk's strength. Plus, I don't know for certain if Thor has access to the Odinforce in this movie.
In the Adam Warlock & the Infinity Watch, Asgards defenders are able to hold back the entire Infinity Watch, Doctor Strange, & the Silver Surfer. Only when Thanos decides to lend the Infinity Watch assistance do they it pass the gates.
Of course, Odin fights Thanos in that story
and half of Asgard becomes colateral damage.

Spot on review..... any one with any knowledge of comics knows hulk cannot defeat thor like thats its always been close.... the had hulk literally kill thor BIG insult to the thor charactor and also thor fans... Thor once had the magic from his hammer removed and foufgt hulk fist to fist None could win the enede up standing in a vice grip for hrs none would budge.. mavel now comes out with a dvd having hulk killing thor while he has the hamer...???? total BULLSHIT...
