I built my rig specifically to get 60fps on this game it cost 1300$ : two 1Gb GTS 250's (has more power then GTX 285), 4GB DDR3, Core i7 930 OC@ 4.1Ghz (has 8 threads), two 500GB raptors in RAID 0stripe (so it's like 20,000rpm read speed), 30" 1680x1050 60hz monitor. And I actually get 60fps on the dot without Vsync, settings DX10 very high.

@Fanta700 The Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD3R. It Has a PCB with twice the amount of copper in it to reduce heat when overclocking and also my graphics cards are Gigabyte aswell for the same reason cuz i overclocked them with PowerStripe to 800Mhz from 740Mhz

1: i believe there isn't even a computer that is made to run on 21 gb of ram. you can put it in, but it will use only the max the computer is made for. (max 6 gb mostly)

2: even if you have 21 gb of ram, you stil need a very very VERY good graphic card of you wanna see the explosion in detail XD

Yes easy maybe not DX10 very high because you will need a better CPU but defiantly DX9 High. I run it with a shitty duel core and a 4870 1gb High but if i try DX10 very high i get about 10-15fps.

Well, not really. Unless its custom built, that is, you build it yourself, and with 400 euros you could build a more than capable computer for Crysis. It's not complicated at all, just search for some tutorials on this on Youtube.

super computers are able to do this because of the massive processing power they display, and can perform this task easily. But those are currently being used for more important stuff than games

your 9600 GT will probably get about 15 fps. I'd stay in DX9 mode with that.

Basically once your settings are at Very High. High = DX9. That's why if you don't have a DX10 card, you can't select Very High.

Once you're on Very High, you're stepping into another world. It's completely different from High. Shader Quality seems to be the biggest setting affected by it though, as it takes care of HDR, Bloom, Diffusion of light, Light Reflections, Colour Correction. You can turn all of your other settings up, or down, and it won't really affect your frame rate, but as soon as you change shader quality; oh man...

Good to know, I can run it with just about everything on medium just fine, but then i get a crakling sounds and it lags a bit more. I think I just need a nicer sound card or something. I have an ATI Radeon 3200 HD with somewhere between 256MB-1.4GB of memory. It is supposed to expand from 256-512, but it doesnt seem to do that for some reason. It also says the maximum capacity is about 1.4GB so, i donno, my computers got vista so........

overclocking is changing the video cards core and memory clock speeds and putting them past what has been set in the factory. You can use rivatuner or the cards tweaking software to do this. I dont recommend it though, even a little overclocking can mess with the game and cause it to crash. Its hard to do but if you read up about it you can teach yourself the right way to do it.
