@ginereli I am not sure what your point is: GDR (as in German Democratic Republic) is the official English equivalent to DDR in German; just as FRG (Federal Republic of Germany) is the equivalent to BRD. Since I am translating into English it would make little sense to stick to the German acronyms, since some of my viewers might be unfamiliar with their meaning. I hope that was educational for you, so in future you may choose a more intelligent example to showcase your linguistic aptitude ;-)
