This was absolutely their BEST Tour! I saw them in Cleveland and Indianapolis. And this song ROCKED! Everyone on the floor raised their hands when Michael raised his. Great memories.

Was surprised to hear Stipe sing, "I believe my throat hurts." But he still managed to improvise a falsetto harmony toward the end.

This version has so much more snap to it than any version played in recent years. It's a revealing comparison.

I am just getting back into my R.E.M. kick. In High School in the early to mid 90's they were by far my favorite band, but when Bill left they started getting away from me. I had to dust of Life's Rich Pageant, Murmur and the others and am falling back in love with them. What an absolutely outstanding band, top to bottom.

God, I forgot how great Life's Rich Pageant was! The first REM record I ever bought. It even had Superman on it. Later copies of the record omit the song.

This is from the GREEN tour, they were touring the country and selling out LARGE, VERY LARGE venues... I think this was a little after "when those of us in GA were the only ones who got it", LOL.
