  • i took yarn oout of the scarf that my mom made me and my hand is red

  • When you are trying to do it the same time, it's not really possible to keep the stitch and mess around with your computer...

  • Great idea for the demo, but the speed made it impossible to do the four stitch! SLOW IT DOWN!!!

  • Good demo but the fast forward was distracting. Can't follow.

  • this sucks

  • i did this pattern with plarn (plastic bags rolled into a ball of yarn) and it worked out! I cant wait to show this to dome of the women in my knitting/crocheting group!

  • @heartrock02, you can PAUS it. its one of the opposites of play! i did that and i did fine.

  • @charly29ful totally thats what i did! its not that hard to click pause and play

  • @greenbooklily good! at least SOMEONE out of all these comments figured it out! how many of you ppl havent seen the pause button? its the two lines at the bottom left hand corner of the video. right next to the volume buttong and near the timer buttong thingy!

  • ok i know how to crochet but this video was still to fast for me

  • Wasn't this video in the How To Crochet one?

  • yes..slower for us crochet beginers!

  • thanks very helpful but next time you should go slower because i had to replay the video a few times to understand

  • thanks for the video, I like your book´s selection... I have the very same

  • AWSOME! i love the quick videos because i can pause and rewind as needed and i can get it over with and get onto making the flowers, great job, you really cant find that great of a quickie anymore

  • can you make an other vieo it tooo fast

  • @puppypuppy999 the video title starts with "QUICKIE"

  • Much much too fast. Boo.

  • much much too fast, the worse demonstration video ever

  • The stitching's kinda fast but I often replay the video maybe one or two times more to get it; but great video, I've really learned alot seeing your videos. :] Love your channel name too, that fits perfectly. :D

  • Too fast with the stitching!

  • loved the vid, thanks for posting

  • I used your cap video and made a smaller version for my granddaughter and used this to make two flowers, one a little bigger and one a little smaller in the center. It turned out great. Thanks for the easy to follow instructions.

  • I've been crocheting for 3 days and this was easy to follow after watching it MANY times. My flower turned out perfect and it was fun to learn a new stitch (quad). Great little embelishment to my 1st beanie! Thanks!

  • Does anyone else notice that this lady made sure that her Watchtower literature was clearly displayed for all to see in this video, bringing honor to the Watchtower Organization...I wonder if she counted this video as "time"?

  • Why on earth would you choose to speed the stitching up?

  • Yes it was fast. However, by pausing and rerunning I managed to crochet the flower in under 10mins and am pleased with the result. Free private tuition, I'm not complaining.

  • Yes it was fast. However, by pausing and rerunning I managed to crochet the flower in under 10mins and am pleased with the result.

  • wow. this video sucks.

  • WAHHHHHHH she was going too fast! i couldent even see how to do it! >.< i am only 16 and i know how to make a scaf blanket and granny square i learned from one of my teachers but still she went to fast!!!!

  • @Temari305 Try joining a circle of 4 chains-SC 8 stitches, encircling the circle & the string. Slip-knot #8 SC into 1st SC to complete a clean circle. Now, ch 3, skip 1 ch & slip knot into next stitch to create a loop. Now make 3 more loops the same way as above. Now slip knot under the first loop & ch 2, then do 1 DC (Double Crochet = wrap yarn around needle, go under ch, grab the yarn, wrap yarn around needle, pull through two loops, wrap yarn around needle, pull through all loops.)

  • If they had spent less time showing a pristine handmade afghan in the garbage bags and more on showing each stitch as it was introduced it would be a better how-to video. They spent ages demonstrating a slip knot and flashed past the "4 stitch" and double crochet. Show the first of each stitch in detail, one petal fully then zoom past the rest, and show how to finish off too.

  • Guys stop complaining it's to fast it's the same stitch as the original just double or quadrupled. The reason it was sped up is prolly so it's not a 60 min video to show one small flower being made. Guess no one has ever heard of TIME LAPSE video.

  • hey do you have a pattern for your brown cap on 0:28? That's the exact style I've been looking for a pattern for

  • hey do you have a pattern for your brown cap on 0:28? That's the exact style I've been looking for a pattern for?

  • :D yay! I got a crocet book but i couldn't figure out how to start my projects in them even with the pictures i couldn't tell what they were doing thanks a bunch!

  • when its goes fast it makes me dizy

  • this is stupid...could you have sped it up anymore and don't tell me she crochets that fast because I know better...don't post if you are just trying to show off.

  • Cute flower. Gonna have to use the pause button though. >,<

  • This is so simple thanks so much! I just made a few to put on a few hats I made.

  • ahhhh too fast!!! and i mad the chain to tight and i cant see anything that im doing

  • Stop complaining about the speed, there's a pause button right up there.

  • I pity the poor beginner, you are going much too fast!

  • Thanks for putting this up. lol apparently I did it wrong though and am just making a circle. But its a good circle.

  • Nice, Nice!

  • she goes way to fast. this is NOT repeat NOT beginner

  • Yeesh, Slow down. This is waaay to fast to be catagorized as "beginner"

  • Holy crap is that fast!!

I've tried to watch your videos before and now I realized all of them are crazy fast! I will have to find another video....thank you for your effort in trying though.

  • a double crochet is easy!!!! with single crochet you put it through the hole yarn over and pull through with double crochet you yarn over then go through the hole yarn over pull through yarn over pull through 1 loop yarn over and pull through last loop. it sounds like alot but it is suuuuper easy

  • wow that was fast

  • For all those who said slow down, take a few steps back and first LEARN TO CROCHET...as long as you have basic crocheting skills this is not rocket science

  • @amandamcmom FYI- I do know how to crochet thank you very much. I just can't make a flower yet. I'm a visual learner so I thought I'd check this out, watch how it was done and take off from there. It is NOT a teaching video, it's a guidline video. Fine. You don't need to be so bitchy about it...

Good luck with your rocket science career.

  • Uh....huh?

Fun to watch, but will try a book for actual learning.

    Thanks!

  • It takes a bit of practice, y'all, so if it doesn't look good, pull it out and try it again. You will get it to look like a flower. Don't get discouraged. Pick up a good crochet book or watch crochet videos (not necessarily Threadbanger) on how to crochet. Most of the Crochet instructors out there do it lots slower so you can catch on. Threadbanger has a limited amount of time for their shows, so they speed things up to give you a hint of what to do. It's their producer's doing.

  • @CeltxBeauty Good point on the time limit thing.

  • 2 words . SLOW DOWN!!!!

  • Continued: repeat from * 4 times and sc after it REPEAT the petal (what's in the *) until you have 5 petals BUT REMEMBER TO SC AFTER EACH PETAL. If you need more help, just message me.

  • To anyone having trouble: Ch(chain) 6, slst(slip stitch-insert hook into st[stitch] yarn over,go through all loops on hook) into first stitch, 2 sc(single crochet-insert hook in st, yarn over, pull through first loop, yarn over, pull through second loop) in each stitch, 1 sc in next st, *yarn over twice, insert in next stitch, yarn over, pull through one loop on hook, yarn over, pull through 2 loops on hook, yarn over, pull through 2 loops on hook, yarn over, pull through all loops,

  • i dont know you guys, but my first petal looked AWFUL.... sorry, i just know how to do single crochet stich!!!!

  • do you do the four stitch in the same stitch as the single stitch?

  • Realy want to do these but much too fast for me, i got dizzy.

Can you do it slower please.

  • thanks for the tutorial! im gonna try it now :)

  • Thanks for the time you took making the video and explaining, but it is toooooooo fast.

  • I watched this once and made like seventy of them XDDD I did have to go back and re-watch a few fast parts, but no big deal. AmeerahNashea was right, if you just hit pause, it's not that bad.

  • This is hard, but I'm stubborn and WILL figure this out...I do agree, the 4 stitch or whatever is confusing, but I won't give up. (famous last words) :)

  • this is to fast

  • doesn't really show those of us who don't know how to crochet how to do this.

  • Nice flower I'm bout to try it right now.. It's called a 'pause' button people! The instructions are right on the bottom...

  • @AmeerahNashea: Just wondering, did you figure the flower out? Your comment was kind of mean, by the way, no offense...I was just a bit surprised by your comment. I've been trying to figure it out and I'm pretty quick with crocheting but it's not coming along even with the instructions at the bottom...I think she might have missed explaining a step, just wondering. :)

  • Oh, how weird. I live a few minutes from there

  • so dumb

  • i think its an awesome video

  • Wow, those are so simple. I learned a much more complicated way. o_O

  • cut the music slow down the video! you are to techno aware to be of use to crochet beginners, so what is the use of this video?

  • I got a "teach yourself to crochet kit" at Wal-mart and was totally lost. Video was too fast but I never thought of using yarn from old blanket.

  • If it was too fast down the stitch names and type "how to do....." onto youtube and some single tutorials of the stitch will appear. I recommended looking at the knit witch!

  • Really cute finished...but if it were slower it would be easer to follow...so you only get one star because it wasn't very well explained.

  • i'm sorry, but you are going too fast for me... it would help if you went slower and if you explained each knot because i have no idea how to do a double crochet and for those of you going to say that i shouldn't be trying this i have been crocheting for a long time but i haven't had the time to learn all the compliacated stiches...

  • @irokrealyhard A double crochet is usually doing two singles in one hole

  • @irokrealyhard try the art of crochey she is very good

  • @irokrealyhard You have to go to their crocheting video where they teach you first if you don't know how to do a double crochet.

  • its called quadruple crochet not the four stitch... and yer going WAY too fast for beginers!!

  • WHY ARE YOU DELETING ALL YOUR OLD VIDEOS? sorry for the caps but its really aggrivating because there are still so many i haven't seen and now i never will :(

  • I'm with vcav22 - you guys have a whole bunch of stuff in the old videos! Don't get rid of them b/c most people haven't even gotten to them yet.

  • You are going at it too fast, couldn't understand all the gibberish and where are the instructions to making the flower. I probably can understand the written instructions better than looking at your speedy video.

  • Looks really cute, but at least for me (beginner) it was way too fast... couldn't understand the 4 crochet thing.....

  • the most important part was way too fast! you should have at least done the first petal in regular time.

  • I agree I couldn't follow along when it was going to fast

  • i've done this before! i was only 8!

  • same here!

  • NEGATIVE!

  • too fast, music is annoying

  • Way to fast for a beginner. I felt like she was entrtaining her neice, what about the purpose of the video?

  • terminology in this video is confusing, and way too fast... definitely not for beginners.

  • why does she call it the needle? is a hook! that's all, other than that: way to go, recycling is the best, thanks!

  • This video is terrible. It's way too fast. I learned nothing.

  • What a cute flower!

  • i love it it's so simple!

  • too fast

  • four crochet stitch?? wtf

  • kind of helpful the stitch is called a Treble Crochet not a four stitch i think she ment four stitches in one ch but that would be confusing for a beginner and she didnt talk about the single chain in between

  • there is a mush easier way to do that

  • This video was great! I can't understand most crotchet books, but I learn quickly by watching. :D Thanks!

  • tjw1963 has more tutorials on crochet flowers and they are slower and better explained!

  • this sucks.. the girl doesnt even do it the way i do it

  • worst. demonstration. ever.

  • I did it!!! you just gotta keep pausing the vide with each step and slowly make you're way through! thats how i did it and i got a lovely pink flower! thanks!!!

    ~Tiana~

  • ummmmm not helpful. but you managed to help other people! :)

  • this is not a good vid. Shes not a very good crocheter she has bad habbits like she only gos in 1 loop wen she sc

  • technically that's not a bad habit going through either the front stitch or the back stitch is a way of getting a different pattern without changing your stitches

  • Oh i didnt no that. sorry

  • Its alright I only know cus thats how my mom taught me :)

  • too fast!! i gave up

  • what she means by "four-stitch crochet" is a quadruple stitch. yarn over twice, go back in your original stitch, and then chain through your remaining yarn on your hook until you're, which equals four times. my flower is lookin' pretty hot over here. thanks!

  • I usually love threadbanger, but this is so fast, there is no way I can learn how to do this flower....off to find a better vid...sorry

  • my mum likesit

  • This video is terrible. They speed up all the movements. So, if you are a beginner it is difficult to follow.

  • I did it! I managed to crochet a flower!! thank you so much!!!!!!

  • all i ended up with was a bunch of knots

  • Thanks for the great video. Love the flower and all of the other 'how to's'. Is your aunt a witness?

  • woooow this was not a learn to crochet video at all.

please post one of how to make a scarf or something super simple so we can learn the technique!

    THANKS!!

  • Check out the channel tjw1963. Teresa is the best for any crochet technique and very easy instruction

  • This was good but I felt that it needed to be a little more instructive.

  • whats the 4 crochet stitch?? how do you do that stitch??

  • its a half-double crochet stitch

  • this tutorial was a nice remainder for my rusty crochet skills... cant wait to make some appliques ;]

  • what's the point? I wouldn't be here if I already knew how to crochet

  • I can't do the knot..haha

  • Why are you in such a rush!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • man... i still can't crochet :(

  • this one was too "quickie" :P

  • Hi there. Could you not have kept it slower!! Arghh!

  • I believe crocheting is from the fishing industry - make/repair nets... It's a manly thing to do. Crochet with anything! Strips of shredded jeans, plastic bags=great rugs. Manly is as manly does.

  • Great comment =P

  • my boyfriend crochets and he's wonderful at it =D

he made this lovery scarf that i wear around my neck when it's chilly... =D

and i agree with ThreeEscapeas... it's super cute when a guy crochets

  • hey hallodeyo, nothing is never for only one gender. Girls can do "boy things" and boys can do "girl things". take ballet for an example, guys and girls both particapate! plus, i think it would be cute if a guy crocheted.

  • im sorry about this, im not gay or anything (not that thats bad) but is crocheting only for girls? because im obsessed with crafts, i used to try knitting, but the scarf materials came out womanly, so i was going to try crochet, but no guys ever do it, is it basically only for girls? please respond!

  • HalloDeyo, here we go again! lol..Theres nothing wrong with your wanting to try and crochet/knit whatever. Free yourself of gender norms, then you'll be happy.

  • i adore CROCHET ....

and i aint gay i got my Gf...

    and she loves my work!!!

  • Nothing wrong with crocheting! It looks like a lot of fun! I just wish I could figure it out! :)

So, go for it, and don't be afraid what other people think! BTW, I've seen a lot of yarn craft books geared toward guys at my local bookstore, so you should check them out.

  • My dad used to crochet, guys do crochet as well so go ahead and enjoy!!

  • Crocheting, knitting, and tatting were first done by men, historically. It was something for fishermen to do in the off-season...and consider how fishing nets are constructed.

And Russell Crowe knits. There's a sexy picture of him working on an Aran sweater someplace.

  • That being said...this tutorial was pretty useless. Why speed up the process? You can't see the mechanics.

  • if u look on the side bar it gives u a link to the large version

  • this is really awesome... but could u like slow it down a bit?

the speeding up was quite confusing..

    but thnx neways [:

    go threadbanger!

  • cool

  • I like the idea of using a recycled source of yarn, but instead of titling it "learn to crochet" perhaps it would be better to title it something more appropriate. This really doesn't teach anyone the basics of crocheting and as others have said, speeding the video up really negates any learning aspect.

  • It took me so long watching this video to figure out where the first stitch after the slip knot comes from.

  • PERFECT

  • What is the point of this video? You say you will teach us how to crochet and then speed through the whole thing! Very irritating and utterly useless.

  • cool...that is so cool..and talented

  • thsnk u so much u made me understand this better

  • Hey, thanks a bunch. (n_n)

You've just helped a 16 year old man learn how to crochet. :)

  • hm, speeding up the video really makes it hard to learn...

  • i just got crocheting stuff i thought i was doing it wrong but it turns out i was doing it right.

  • I wish it was a bit slower as I want to learn to crochet

  • Im making a beautiful blanket out of crochet I will be making a video once it's all done so far it's beautiful I also make scarfs!

  • u guys rok !!!!!!! i would know what i woold do witout u a made a BEAUTIFUL qiut by sewing all the flowers together . thank u sooo much thread bangers and have a mery mery christmas. and happy holidays !

  • yeh, its quite fast, but its a video, you can watch it as many times as you need.

  • A bit too fast, sorry to say. But at least I got the idea how to start off after watching this! ThreadBanger rocks!

  • wel u have a good point but i just paused it and igt turned out great .

  • I agree... way too fast lol this video is not for beginners! :-P

  • I cant learn.. Too fast.

  • i kno how 2 crochet i learn how 2 corchet wen i was n 4th grade im n 10th now dats a long time but all i kno how 2 do is make a lil baby footie i wanna learn more so im bout 2 go check out sum more videos halla

  • damn i wanted to learn to crochet because knitting takes to damn long...but this looks even more ridiculous haha

  • Knitting is even more ridiculous. I hate knitting from now on XD Crochet is way freaking better. It's quicker and easier to start off.

  • Crocheting is very easy, but this video is a bit fast for a beginner.

  • that looks like the hard way, that's not how i start and not how i yarn over. crochet really isn't hard.
