I feel disturbed in silence, but my Recovery-Night Court comparison is below this comment.

When I first saw the truck smash into his backside, I thought the scene from the Night Court episode where Harry was being wheeled in by Bull in a furniture Dolly, Christine anounced her possible engagement, and Bull screamed "WHAT!?" and Harry was thrown into the courtroom, his screaming cutting the scene. Different direction, but the same reaction I was giving them. I am actually surprised, unless that was a stunt double, that David Tennant's still walking after that accident.

@TennantJunkie1993 Actually he wasn't even standing there, so not even a stunt double. If you pause it somewhere in 2:58 you can see him fading out as the truck "hits" him, so I'd say that it was two different takes put together. Just the magic of movies. :)

Huge thanks for this. Shame it's not on DVD. I had a similar problem (frontal brain lobe injury) but doctors never explained things, or what to expect in the future, so I never knew. Never knew that all the problems for 15 years were just after/side effects of the accident. Seeing this, suddenly realising what had happened.... amazing. Very tearful.

There's a great documentary too (C4?) about fr/brain injury. One poor woman can't remember she has a daughter from 1 day to the next. Thanks again.

@4evaJaredLeto As someone who has a brother with a brain injury, I have to say, there really isn't such a thing as "getting better". There is some recovery yes, but they are never the same person that they were.

This movie does a masterful job of portraying this. David is so spot on, there are times when he strongly reminds me of my brother.

I love David, don't get me wrong, but he is SOOO skinny. He almost looks unhealthy sometimes. He wouldn't look right with a ton of muscle on him, but I do wish he'd gain some weight sometimes. If he's that tiny onscreen, he must me a rail in person.
