  • Because using fresh products instead of canned ones is too old fashioned...

  • @psychospin1 Did someone ask you a question? :D

  • @SimpleCookingChannel Does a question have to be made before I can say anything? :P

Sorry, but I don't understand the use of canned tomatoes and garlic by someone who obviously loves food.

And I'll leave you a challenge: sauté onions and garlic in olive oil, add celery, fennel and red bell pepper. Add peeled tomatoes. After a while add fresh basil, parsley, thyme, bay, salt and pepper. Cook for 1h. Tomato paste for color and grind it. Rectify salt and add fresh lime juice.

  • @psychospin1 That's okay. You don;t have to or need to understand the use of canned tomatoes & garlic. That's how i make it :D

  • @psychospin1, most of the pizzerias here in NYC use canned tomato sauce, and their pizzas taste great. But I agree with you. It's still best to use fresh ingredients. If these pizzerias were making their own sauce, the flavors could be much better.

I was just searching for other pizza recipes and this video appeared, but it's titled falsely. There is no "making" of pizza sauce in this video. The sauce is already made. This video should be titled, "How to heat up tomato sauce".

  • @psychospin1 its called the 'simple cooking channel'

  • @1991bw CRACK OPEN A JAR OF RAGU! YOULL BE FINE

  • @psychospin1

why peel a tomato when you can buy them in a tin, do you normally drink water out of the reservoir you gormless twat?

  • @Mohrkai Wow, insulting over some tomato... surely you're a genius. And if you don't know why fresh tomato rules over canned tomato, keep buying your pizzas at Pizza Hut, do not try this at home.

  • where can i find the written recipe?

  • @kaka99809 in the description :D

  • hi chef...cn u pls tell me if theres a good substitute for sour cream.....i couldnt find it in market so thought to ask u...o is there another name for sour cream????thank you chef

  • so good

  • @LEGOEVERYTHINGay296 Thanks :D

  • That was easy- thankyou.

  • @vivrash Welcome :D

  • why did you put garlic???????

  • @Jordeuz For health reasons. Eat lots of garlic & you will keep colds & flu's away. I haven't had a cold or flu for 5 years & only 1 in 9 years since i started adding garlic to my meals :D Before that i used to get 2-3 a year :D

  • @SimpleCookingChannel and don't forget that garlic tastes sooo good :D

  • THE ONE :-)

  • up the brightness on your camera or in the room or something it just looks so dull and not too good but if you got a bit more brightness it would make everything look more colourful and better

  • @bonehead0816 That's true. This was filmed using my old camera & the lighting was not that good. I use better lighting & a better camera now so hopefully you can see the difference in my new videos like my beetroot dip recipe video :D

  • @SimpleCookingChannel hmm i will go check out your newer videos then :)

  • @bonehead0816 Thanks :D

  • Thanks mate.

  • @bugder :D

  • Thank you very much chef

  • @MsMigratory Welcome :D

  • @liquidus2172 I don't know :)

  • This looks good, think I will give it a whirl. I cannot buy good sauce where I live. Thanks.

  • @busheepoo Thanks :)

  • Try adding red wine to it ......it makes a huge difference.

  • @Gimmmmmmp I sometimes do & i do prefer it with red wine :)

  • Just gave this a whirl, but with my own twist on things, tasted delicious!

  • @zacl79 Awesome :)

  • Comment removed

  • Pizza sauce is never cooked! until its on the pizza...terrible thoughtless recipe

  • @Calisel99 Yes it is. I cook it so therefore it's cooked sometimes. It tastes great. Try it sometime. :)

  • so, no heating up or anything? its just ready for pizza like that?

  • @SuperElectrolytes You can heat it up. Either way is fine.

  • makin it tonight thax

  • @TheJoymum Great. I hope you like it :)

  • Delicious! Thanks for sharing.

  • @sbalazssarvari Welcome :)

  • дерьмо!!!!

  • @33307nik :)

  • @SimpleCookingChannel u do know it means shit right?

  • @darkknight861 What means shit?

  • I am so proud that you shared this recipe, it is wonderful! Thank you very much truly!

  • @1kausarkhan Thank you for your kind comment :)

  • the key to pizza and pasta sauces is the cooking of olive oil and garlic, then adding your dried ingredients slightly before the tomatoes to allow them to release their natural oils and infude with eachother. Add some water to lighten it up...try it

  • @mikedelpiero9 Thanks for the tip :)

  • No Prawns here maybe shrimp

  • @ColeFrederick Prawns for most of the world :)

  • Fist of all your accsent makes me question your methods and understanding of cooking a good pizza with your PRAWNS

  • @ColeFrederick Once again in this country & in fact most countries they are called prawns. Americans like to call them Shrimps. Perhaps try learning about the world & you won't sound so ignorant:)

  • O-REG-A-NO not OR-E-GAN-NO

  • @ColeFrederick No it's the way i say it in my country. It's pronounced a different way in Australia than the USA. They are different ways to say tomato & your way is not the only way :)

  • can this be used for spaggati

  • @TheDarrelltan Yes. It doubles as a spaghetti sauce :)

  • Dried oregano & basil? Garlic paste? (And 2 tbsp of it, no less!) Bzzt! You're automatically disqualified. That concoction of yours is gross.

  • @fretbuzz59 Without tasting my recipe your opinion of it being gross means nothing.

  • @SimpleCookingChannel I know what those ingredients taste like, and I've tasted similar sauces. Get a book by Marcella Hazan. She will teach you how to make sauces.

  • @fretbuzz59 She makes her sauce her way & i make mine my way :)

  • @SimpleCookingChannel By that reasoning, cooking techniques developed over thousands of yrs are meaningless b/c people can just do as they please. People often have been satisfied w/their cooking until they learned how to do better. I guarantee you can do better.

  • @fretbuzz59 :)

  • Arrrggggg...what a shitty sauce!!!

  • @killingracists It's a great sauce :)

  • @SimpleCookingChannel Dude, no offence, but it doesn't look like pizza sauce, it looks like a bird's poop... sorry :(

  • @killingracists You must used the the rubbish that is put on pizza from fast food joints. This is real pizza sauce.

  • @SimpleCookingChannel You kidding? I prepare my own stuff from very tasty natural plum tomatoes; garlic. olive oil and basil leaves, some pepper and salt; I never add sugar, that's nasty, I add a whole carrot to neutralize the acidic taste, and then when the sauce is ready, I dispose of the used carrot and that's it...I have a very delicious good-looking sauce ready for my pizza!

  • @killingracists You way isn't the only way or best way. It's just the way you like it.

  • @SimpleCookingChannel You might be right (and your sauce might probably be tasty) but people eat with the eyes first, and your sauce is not good-looking...sorry, just my opinion..

  • @killingracists Since when do eyes have mouths? :) Most people don't care what something looks like if it tastes & smells nice.

  • @SimpleCookingChannel Dude, your response reflects your ignorance regarding good cuisine; BTW, let me tell you that it is a fact that MOST of NORMAL people would not taste something that looks like a dog's shit even when it might "smell and taste good"because when it comes to eating, all the senses come to play (EYESIGHT is the one that notices A DISH immediately, right before SMELL AND TASTE). Get your facts straight!

  • @killingracists I am not interested in your opinion. As i said, if you don't my video don't watch. Goodbye :)

  • @SimpleCookingChannel no chance man...its all in the eyes first buddy...why do u think there is so much influence on plating? any proper foodie can make his or her decision on a dish just by looking at it.

  • @mikedelpiero9 That's fine but this is not a restaurant. This is cooking at home for yourself or the family. :)

  • @SimpleCookingChannel came off a little strong i guess...end of the day if it makes you and your family happy then so be it!!! enjoy!

  • @mikedelpiero9 That's the point. This is me just showing what i cook for me & my family & if people get some ideas then that's great :)

  • @SimpleCookingChannel Real pizzas are made w/crushed canned San Marzano tomatoes, not a sauce preparation. And especially not that horrid mishmash of yours. Sorry.

  • @fretbuzz59 That is the can i used. So you are saying even though i used the crushed can of tomatoes you say i should use it's still horrid. The real question is why are you so angry & why do you care?

  • @SimpleCookingChannel If you used San Marzanos, then you've at least got that right. Paste imparts a different flavor, & isn't found on the best pizzas. Aside from the paste, those particular dried herbs are problematic, especially in a light, fast-cooking (the time it takes to bake a pizza) sauce. Garlic paste is bad, & you used a lot. I'm not angry. But I'll bet that if you learn what good sauces taste like, you'll abandon such concoctions, & you'll make better vids.

  • @fretbuzz59 I like the way i make this sauce. :)

  • Im in that Aussie part of youtube again...

  • @oKASHmANo lol :)

  • @SimpleCookingChannel love the intro :D

  • @KaiTendo174 Thanks :)

  • goud

  • @ennagh :)

  • im subbing to your channel for sure ;)

  • @sakoerlox14 Thanks :)

  • Not a huge fan of garlic will a lil bit of garlic salt work?

  • @rayray7531 That will work just fine :)

  • :D I wanna cook with you!!!

    Love how you said "Basil".

  • @rayray7531 Thanks lol :)

  • Thanks for quick recipe...going to make it soon! :)

  • @ChaddyTKD1 Awesome :)

  • Che schifo!

  • @zanda77 :)

  • @zanda77 hahahahahaha

  • It looks yummy. I like the xtra garlic.

  • @smokeyab920 Thanks. It really is & can also be used as a pasta sauce :)

  • What kind of remote place do you live in to make that kind of pizza sauce?

  • @bakameh No remote place. This is how i make a pizza sauce. If you don't like it don't use it :)

  • @SimpleCookingChannel I won't use it, believe me. But I'm telling you you'll get better results with something simpler than this concoction--simple but higher-quality ingredients. And you like SIMPLE, right?

  • @fretbuzz59 I like whatever i like. If you don't then don't watch. You just sound so angry which is quite sad :(

  • Gdday Tdday!

  • @obaidCarkey :)

  • Yer supposed to put it on a pizza ya dumb aussie! :D

  • @euyfdvfhj :)

  • @euyfdvfhj Not a dumb skippy. He knows it goes onto a pizza but the camera's batteries ran out. Up there for thinking euyfdvhj :-)

  • @hellonewman1 It's a joke...I suppose your IQ must be very high.

  • @euyfdvfhj You mean put it on dough to then make a pizza. Silly bugger. :-)

  • @hellonewman1 You only just noticed that....ahhh ;)

  • @euyfdvfhj hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • I'm going to try it. Thanks for the demonstration!

  • @JhonathanFree You are most welcome :)

  • Yep, this guy sure is simple

  • @1985Cabra Simple like a fox! :)

  • sauce is not for pizza. Ask profesionals.

  • @MakeSh00t Sauce can be for anything i want. Pizza, pasta, anything.

  • @MakeSh00t then what is for?

  • wow really complicated. why heat it in a pan? and why add paste if you heat it? why not make a reduction if you're going to cook it first any way? just add dry herbs to sauce let the herbs soak in the sauce stir that up good and BAM! pizza sauce

  • @atlantianphoenix This is how i make pizza sauce. You could give it a try. You never know. You might like it :)

  • what is no-ccok?

  • @webshowwomen343 I have no idea. When did i say that in the video?

  • @SimpleCookingChannel I just saw comments say "no-ccok" and I was just wondering what it was.

  • @webshowwomen343 oh okay lol i have no idea haha :)

  • leaves of basil are too much better than dusty basil ;)...put a bulb of garlic in hot olive oil and then add the tomato sauce with basil and salt, you'll get the fantastic, original italian sauce! However origano is good in the sauce, bravo. But when I saw sugar added into this, I almost cried

  • @rulogiu Thanks for all your input. I've always added a bit of sugar to the pizza sauce. It gives it a very subtle hint to the sauce. I will try your recipe & see how i like it :)

  • Very nlce. I use a no-ccok recipe for my sauce that turns out pretty good. Thanks for a great video!

  • @AnotherAmateur Thanks :)

  • pizza sauce without pizza ?!?

  • @azam3000 Yes this is how to make pizza sauce. The next video is how to make pizza.

  • @azam3000 Well this was just how to make pizza sauce. I used it on my homemade pizza in the video above called "Homemade Aussie Prawn Pizza"

  • Yummy:)

  • yumm

  • @poobumpisswee thanks

  • Nice recipe

  • @fragglerockalilly Thanks

  • Great recipe! This one's going in my recipe book! =) (Thanks for the metric-standard conversion!)

  • @MZMStudios Thanks. I will convert as much as i can. If not in the video at least in the description.

  • @MZMStudios This can also be used as a pasta sauce.

  • @SimpleCookingChannel That's going to be the majority of what I use it for.... I can't make pizza dough to save my life.... of course, they DO have it in a can... =)

Maybe you should make pizza dough for your next video! =)

  • @MZMStudios lol i could i guess but i like to use pita bread or Lebanese bread for a thin & crispy base & to save time but i might do that in the future. My next video is making a homemade pizza with my pizza sauce.

  • @SimpleCookingChannel Can't wait! =)

  • @MZMStudios My pizza vid is up. Hope you enjoy it.

  • Nice sauce to poach an egg in too.

  • @KasCooks Interesting idea!

  • @KasCooks That would be nice

  • Well done.

    God Bless,

    Elba

  • @elbacooks4u Thank you & you too.

  • This is good for so many things thanx

  • @moonpiemama It sure is. Enjoy!

  • You said it was simple and then I started seeing all these ingredients pop up... phew it was only the intro. Very simple I love to make pizzas I'd be lost without canned tomatos always a must in the pantry.

  • @cheekychickenhead lol. Yeah i love home made pizza with homemade pizza sauce

  • Brilliant and easy!!!

  • @TheKiwiCook Thank you. It sure is.

  • beautiful

  • oh good cook
