this is all a scam...if this device worked so well..doesnt anyone with 1 good brain cell left think that auto manufactures would use those or make something of their own?..oh btw..i just bought the Brooklyn bridge ..i have it for sale on ebay ..i am asking $50,000 ..obo
if you want to save some gas by blocking the intake a bit go for it.... you could always clog up the exhaust a bit too. less air = less gas to obtain the 14.7:1 ratio .... (dont do this, im being a smart ass)
i installed a tornado on a 2000 dodge neon with a 2,0 before install 28 highway 24ish city after install 34 mpg highway and about 30 city it works on little motors bigger the motor the less likely it will show inprovement but maybe 2 miles extra
STN is absolutely correct, however, what the company (Tornado) fails to tell you is that using this type of technology must be engineered for that particular engine. For example, if installing into a gasoline engine, the mass air sensor cannot be between the "tornado" and the intake. It will most always not work cause the sensor is programed for a particular air flow set from the factory. That is throwing your money away, especially if you don't return it. Also, Tornado does not explain to you
I'd bet that fuel economy would be even better if a test was run on a closed track at 60 mph. Dyno testing only partially demonstrates what real-world fuel economy would be because it doesn't simulate the air intake of driving 60 mph on the open road ... roll down your window and stick your head out to approximate the feeling of the air pressure. As the shop teacher says these products increase the flow of the air-fuel mixture so the engine runs more efficiently, which also means longer life.
There's as much info out there from independent organisations to prove these devices do not work neither do fuel and oil additives and the companies selling them have little data to prove they do
This doesn't work. Save your money for gas. If the "tornado" effect lasted all the way to the compression stroke then i will believe it. But the swirling motion of the air stops after the throttle valve.
This is garbage. One of these cannot improve fuel economy at all and the test would have to be rigged. These things actually restrict the airflow to the engine which is against what the manufacturer intended..another scam I'm afraid so don't waste your money.
This tornado device is counter intuitive to what the manufacturer intended as it hinders the flow of air through the engine intake. It does nothing at all to increase fuel mileage, will not atomitse the fuel any better than what it already is and is purely a way to scam money out of you.
this tornado thing is a rip off anyway...it doesnt really work. any cyclone action created would be distroyed as soon as the air hits the trottlebody and intake runners etc....so stupid
right...theres no weight of the vehicle its just the tires spinning and the engine running, no resistance, barly engine working hard...its hard to say because theres a lot of test that say it works and a lot that doesnt, i guess just try yourself but for the price i dont know...
i think the amount of money you would invest in products like these would accumulate to more than you spend for a gallon of gas... the best thing to do is not drive so much... but nice idea... its just basically a simpler version of a cold air intake right?
this didnt make sence to me...maybe im wrong... he used 1 cup of fuel and went 2.7 mi right...theres 16 cups in a gallon 16 x 2.7 = 43.2 mpg?...thats a hell of alot with a jeep..and 3 x 16 = 48 mpg i know thats in accurate
well thats what it probably would be...just keep in mind that on a dyno the jeep didnt have any wind resistance and hardly any friction between all the tires and the road
@fame925 the jeep isn't moving its mass when it is on the dyno, its just spinning the dyno, and not moving its mass so it would get better mpg than real life driving conditions
@fame925 I know this is 3 years old but i just watched it...i think your right here, but I'd say he was running the dyno under no load, it would be kinda like going down a slight grade, so I do think the test is bogus.....
I think these gimmics rip alot of people off, most throw them in the trash, these companies make a killing.
I don't buy anything from comericals. In fact I don't even watch much TV.
This is BS. Does not work.

Atomizes and speeds up the air... You mean like a turbo?

Somebody already said it, so I'll say it again: Just buy a K&N cold air intake.

just buy a k&N airtake

I tried it and saw no measurable gain in fuel mileage, so I returned it and got my money back.

The mass media is historically complicit in these frauds; it gets attention and viewers; Soliciting payment by false claims is Fraud; a crime.

I'd rather take my rent money and buy a supercharger of turbo! I may get kicked out but I'll have something that is really worth the money.

doing the math I'm getting 4.8 mpg gain out of this video.

u only save .7 thats it

Well, the increase is little over 10% and check other FOX News report on News Unit Ford Explorer and it shows as well.

It was the test of fuel usage before/after with 1 cup of fuel. It showed the improvement from 2.7 to 3.0 which means over 10% increase.
Btw, you may be able to see Avg MPG increase from app 18 to 20 on FOX News vehicle - Ford Explorer. Whay do you drive and how often do you fill up?

keep in mind it was in a garage. wind resistance kills your gas mileage...which wasn't there in this test

How was your testing? on which vehicle?

the first thing I noticed is the sound fron the tailpipe changed drastically. It seems that the rev response is quicker.
