this isn't revelations. This is a piece called The Golden Section and isn't choreographed by Alvin Ailey. It is choreographed by Twyla Tharp.

Twyla Tharp wishes she had the genius and passion to choreograph this. I have seen this work many times, most recently I saw the finale performed at a memorial service for a friend of the Ailey company, and it never ceases to amaze me the power and emotion that these piece exudes.

You'll never see anything like this on SYTYCD- most of the choreographers for that show lack the years of technical dance training, and study of the craft of choreography, that made choreographers like Ailey, Limon, Tudor, and Balanchine.
