This is a Master on Guitar. This song really reaches me like no other. I've heard the sweetest vocal arrangement by the INDIGO girls. This instrumental is golden in its fluidity, harmony and rhythms. Yow!! I'm so lucky and grateful I found it today.
A shower of Blessings to mark Hanson. What a great sound you get out of those strings!

Mark Hanson has a fingerstyle book with the tabs for this arrangement. I think you can order it from the website on the video. I love this rendition as well.
wait.... i thought ed gerhard was the writer of it? who's the ORIGINAL composer then? both versions sound good. but i like this version better.... i'd like to learn more about this song in hopes of learning a style of it.
The song has been arround since the 1600's. The composer has been lost to the sands of time. Mark has music and tabs for this on his web site. I have just learned this version myself. I can finally play it well.
This is actually an old traditional song, that Ed Gerhard plays however a closer listen will show this version is vastly different in its execution and construction. I doubt that Ed's version was even listened to during the writing of this arrangement.
It's a Collings SJ (Small Jumbo). Mahogany Back and Sides, Sitka Spruce top. Check our Mark's website. Lots of info there on equipment he uses, fingernails, you name it. Great resource!
Mark, I am a big fan of yours and simply love your fingerstyle playing. This song is a special favorite of mine, and I'm very glad that you posted it. Thank you!
Fantastic playing Mark. This is the perfect folk song, and you are the perfect guitarist. Mark is just a great person and a wonderful teacher. Check out his site. Top quality products I can't recommend enough. I've learned more from him than any other source!
Brilliant I love Marks arrangements, I'm working my way through 'Fingerstyle Wizard' at the moment and having great fun with it :)..Thanks for posting.

Un son d'une pureté et une mélodie d'une finesse que l'on ne se lasse pas d'écouter. Profil bas Monsieur l'artiste.
