At least, I'd like to live in a world where fair use is interpreted broadly enough to allow his using the few seconds of your video that he used. But I'd like even better to live in a world where CC-type licensing and crowdsourced media is pervasive enough that it doesn't really come up. And yeah, I can also see the case that he should have asked permission. But calling it "stealing" makes you sound like the MPAA.

@JohnCallender It's not fair use if he makes money off the video. It's fair use for me to use somebody else's music in a video as long as I let people watch it for free. But if he's using my video in a product he sold to a client and it goes on commercial television then I think that's bullshit. I had to go to KSC two days in a row and went to a lot of expense to get that footage.

@HydraWolf1 You hear the sonic booms. I think your are severely overestimating how loud they are. Not to say they aren't loud. I would bet that most of those people have a nasty ring in their ears. Camera lenses are quite thick same with the windows and portholes on the ships. Maybe a regular house window would shatter at that range. Supersonic demonstrations have to be done over open water. SInce it is ilegal to do them over land unless there is a nation emergency like a terrorist threat.

And, supersonic tests can be done on land, but they can only be performed in an unpopulated area with a 50 mile radius (I think? Maybe I'm wrong with that)
