Growing up listening to Chicago I always wondered how bands with that many members survived the club circuit when they were starting out. They were basically playing for nothing dividing up a tip jar. At least I would have to think so. I am still trying to figure out what the 25 or 6 to 4 song is all about. I have found a few articles on it but nothing concrete. I have wondered for over 30 years. Anybody ?
@browsemusicvideos Most FAQ about Chicago & Peter Cetera by far. It's about writing a song in the middle of the night, and he's not sure what time it is. It's "25 or 6 to 4 [a.m.]" Bobby Lamm wrote that song. He was big into numbers in Chicago's early years: "Questions 67 & 68" "Poem 53".
I commend CHICAGO for being in the business for over 40 years, and I'd like to thank Robert Lamm, Walt Parazaider, Lee Loughnane, and Jimmy Pankow for keeping the tradition alive. The current lineup is great, however, it's just not the same without Danny Seraphine's drums, Peter Cetera's soaring tenor and bass playing, and Terry Kath's guitar licks and soulful singing.
@MrJayBBluejay I agree, that the songs do not sound as wonderful as the original versions. The current lineup however is probably the best in terms of who has been replaced. I am going to see them in concert in a few weeks, and though I would have really loved and preferred to see the original group, I am totally looking forward to seeing them as they are now!!!!!
Chicago's early work is amazing especially considering how young they were. They were a fortunate collision of diverse talent. The tragic early loss of Terry Kath changed this group in unknowable ways.
@MrGeno502 Yeah, I'm a more than a little ashamed to live in the same state as the RR Hall of Fame. It's probably not worth the two hour drive from Columbus let alone Chicago. I'd rather watch Youtube videos of all my favorite bands anyway. Thanks people for uploading all of these great videos!
Terry Kath was brilliant. Had no idea Jimi Hendrix had such high regard for his guitar work. Terry was such a soulful singer. After Terry died Chicago wasn't the same. It's about time we had uploads for my most favorite Chicago song EVER.
Terry Kath was the heart and soul of Chicago. His death was a tremendous loss to the band, his family friends and fans. Check out the first four albums, they were absolutely amazing and his input can never be forgotten.
Terry Terry my sweet Terry. What a voice. nothing ,nothing like it. sorry u had to leave us way to soon. u were Jimmy's favorite. I bet u r making beautiful music up there together.
Great 60s song, typical of groups like Chicago and Blood Sweat and Tears. Chicago lost their edge in the 70s without Terry Kath's vocals and guitar heard here
@maida1982a Great 60s song, typical of groups like Chicago and Blood Sweat and Tears. Chicago lost their edge in the 70s without Terry Kath's vocals and guitar heard here
@maida1982 You can always tell Terry because his voice is so deep. He could really belt out the soul. It is said he's the person who introduced Jimi Hendrix to he Wah wah pedal during their days together at Whiskey A Go Go and touring together. He's an outstanding, underated guitarist.
David, "I'm so happy" that you chose a song with the great Terry Kath in the lead!! Happy to have found yet another Chicago fan, we're all over the place, aren't we? I love the pictures you attached to the video and think you did an altogether wonderful job on this video. Cheers, Carina
