sorry typo and mistake in my last comment, i meant they rode scooters and hondas after the war and typo was they still don't want me riding motorcycles. and to add that even though they say no to motorcycles and weirdly still yes to scooters, i will still pursue my ambition to ride motorcycles.
its weird how my parents have ridden scooters and my dad on the honda when they were growing up in vietnam during the war, and they still dont want me ridding motorcycles when i get older because in america, where i was born and still live in, they relate motorcycles to death, and i grew up and still live in the suburbs of houston tx. weird...

People ride for years...they fall and get spooked! Its about your passion for the culture of motorcycles. If you fall get right back up and start riding again. i acknowledge that riding is dangerous, but not so much to where it prevents me of doing something i love.
Can we all stop the controversy over motorcycles being dangerous or not? THEY ARE DANGEROUS. There is not much room for error on motorcycles, and no safety features such as airbags and seat belts. BUT the rider must assume all risks that come with riding a motorcycle. Also, stop comparing the danger to other vehicles, I'm not saying motorcycles are any more or less dangerous than cars or any other motor vehicle, I'm just saying there is danger involved with motorcycles period.
You know it's funny how everyone thinks motorcycles are dangerous, but go around those people on a scooter and they all want to ride. And I have more close calls on my scooter then I do my motorcycle. Scooters are a lot more dangerous then motorcycles. Same thing with bicycles, those things are just as dangerous.
Hey, for these classes, do you have to supply your own stuff? Or is it you pay $200 and get your license and then you can go out and buy your own gear? I want to get a bike but i am not sure how to get the ball rolling you know? Don't want to just have a brand new bike dropped at my house and then i drop it on the floor because i couldn't learn from a manual..
@joshuatree1001 I took one of these classes but I did it backwards because I bought my bike first. ts ok because I knew what kind of bike I wanted, but I didn't ride it when I bought so I didn't know it had mechanical issues. So take the class first and do research on the size and style of bike you want.
@joshuatree1001 The course supplies almost everything. You may have to bring your own boots and your willingness to learn though. The course will teach you how to pick up a dropped bike properly too, because you're likely to drop the bike sometime in your motorcycling career.
There are so many variables to it, but really what it comes down to is; Is it worth it to you? You WILL crash, that first crash could be your last. The road is unforgiving sometimes. Had I been in front of a tailgating cager when I went down, I wouldn't have been so lucky. But it is worth it to me to get back on and push forward. Is it to you? If it isn't something you wanted to do your whole life, and your willing to learn everything and take your time, then its not for you.
I rode dirt bikes when I was younger, I was a decent rider. My parents never allowed me to get a streetbike living under their roof. At 24 I just now get one, a 2009 R6. I've learned a lot in the past few months, learned a lot about braking, and even a few little power wheelies. But no matter how good you get you can't prepare yourself for road dangers. A few weeks ago my front end slip out from oil on a turn lane while braking, I was doing 20-30 mph, bikes alright and I am too, but yea...
@jlwild123 I'm 5'10 and on my 2009 R6 I'm on my tippy toes. Lowering any bikes suspension especially a dual sport will ruin the way the bike is supposed to perform. Find a bike that fits you with the stock suspension, don't change anything.
Hal Sparks needs to keep from hovering over the front brake. (4:03, 4:24) that's a big no-no, and i thought they teach that during the "training" program
this was WAY over acted and the music was awful. I like the CBR and watching vids about it because I'm thinking about getting one, but this video was terrible. Sorry, just sayin.
Dude motorcycles ARE dangerous. Your mom was right. I've been riding for 5 years, tens of thousands of miles, dozens of track days, and guess what? I'm sitting here with a broken pelvis and a destroyed bike.
Yeah, motorcyling is fun. Yeah, you can do things right, and help your chances. But it's GOD DAMN DANGEROUS. No seat belts, no air bags, no crumple zones, and it falls over or flips if anything goes wrong. Something that is an "oops" in a car is easily broken bones on a bike.
@aluisious Stay of bikes then buddy..... if you get on one its your own shit if you come off, its your own shit if you break all ur bones. You know when you get onto a bike u might not climb off alive, if your not willing to take that chance, stay off them. as simple as that
@aluisious and to add one more note.. When you BUY a motorcycle and ride it, you are assuming the responsibilities that something MAY happen…. Its no different that driving in a car, when you get behind that wheel, you assume that same risk..
@aluisious You can be the most defensive driver ever on your motorcycle and or car, but you cannot control the other MORON driving the other car… You can get injured in a car crash just as easy as you can in a motorcycle accident… PERIOD….
Now quit saying that motorcycles are dangerous… OR at least be a bit more specific as to HOW & WHEN motorcycles can be dangerous….
Auto-Tune... will someone please ban that software from the music industry?!? It makes people sound ridiculous. If you want to sing in front of other people, be damn well prepared to do it without electronic "help."
retards wud say the music s horrible... the byk and the musix superb. the price is only 2700 euros in asia .. guess we re lucky ....awesome awesome !!!
@Zeggawong yeah ... i heard life is expensive in developed countries ... but u guys earn as much ...so dont worry ....!the bike is now available in india for 2700 euros but with a 6 month waiting period ...:-(
Pretty sweet bike, tops out at 94 MPH but who needs to go faster than that......lol 22 HP, TQ i cant remember but it think its around 50 LB FT, avg 74 MPG. 359 WET weight.
O BTW song is by Kelley James, it says it in the first 5 seconds of the video. SONG IS CALLED "HIGH LIFE"
@jflexe99 GOOD JOB, glad you can find that number and then make yourself sound like a freak'n hero! hey jack ass i said "i cant remember but it think its around 50 LB FT" thank god i was so exact. i mean AROUND 50 LB FT o TQ, sorry i was SO far off. dam what a nice bike especially for the price. all the old 250's got too expensive, US $4000 msrp? for a bike that's been out forever? THEY USED TO BE US $3000!! well at least now we have a bike that is WORTH the $4000. I still would rather have a yamaha virago 250 for 3500 though... it's the bike i got my license with.
@ntrudr800 - I hate to break it to ya, but the new Yamaha V-star 250 is now $4090. They've all been going up in price for awhile. FTR the only new 250 cc which retails for about $3Gs is a Suzuki GZ250.
@ntrudr800 - I think you're right about the GZ250, although I'm puzzled about Suzuki's marketing strategy over the last few years. They've been coming out with some models and not others. I sat on a CBR250R today and thought it fit about the same as a Ninja 250; a little tight. I, too like the TU250; there's some sort of mystique about it. Maybe it's its UJM looks or whatnot. Sadly, I get along with cruisers better than standards (or sportbikes).
OMG that gay music in the background ruins the whole video!
