Black lagoon always used to depress the fuck out me when I watched it because besides the badass action scenes deep down it reminded me that the world was just like this. I was more or less disturbed by the end of episode 15.
There are very few things that are more disturbing than a pair of incestuous, necrophilic (I think the girl talks about doing stuff to the dead body of one of Balalaika's men in episode 13) , sadistic twins.

Its right that their murdered lot of people... but they was degenerated by people. People made from two innecent children what they was... end of 15 episode was very sad :( scene when she/he put up skirt and show to rock her/his genitalia too...
It's sad that these kids were hurt so much, but they deserved to be killed. They killed so many innocent people, especially these two other kids that they planted in the limousine.
It's only natural that it made you cry, but they murdered a lot of people with out any reason and in disguesting ways! Yes their history is sad. It just needed to be done. :(

@PetrossDelta Yes there is something alike in Hansel and Grettel with Lucy and the others alike her in that anime (forgot their names). They all share a twisted fate, but there still is a tiny difference, Lucy wasn't human she was destined to end mankind, Hansel and Gretel were human. I just pointed that out, I think what was ment in the anime is that Society turned them into monsters no one helped them or tried to understand them. Thats the main problem of Society.

She had a demon locked inside of her, that was going to brake out sooner or later and with the crappy treatment that they gave in the orphanage she cracked sooner. Nyuu, Lucy's more or less pure side still remains but it is not able to take control over the body and mind completely. Nyuu can't even speak and as I think mostly thinks about "mating" and pink colors while Lucy is a made genius, "A badass from motherfuck town" if you'd like to say.
@ViewerNumber13, she wasn't abused. She was bullied in school, however. And that happens to everyone who is different. But those kids took it way too far. They were most likely messed up, too.
However, Lucy did bring some of that upon herself. Killing Kouta's family, and going out for Yuuka right in front of him didn't make me feel any sympathy for her.

What is with b666? why was she rehearsing her own life? why was she desigining a dorothy doll? why did everything get erased? what was roger doing driving at the end again? he was still a negotiator.... why were angel and dorothy standing at the side of the road? @standupguy12 Doesn't anyone realize that the series was meant to go on for another 14 to 20 episodes, and he was building a story with tons of psychological metaphors and philosophical concepts, and that he just rushed everything in a few final episodes when he realized he wasn't going to get the chance to do that? That's what happens when anime's greatest successes are Bleach, DBZ, and Naruto :/ I'm not sure who to blame for that. But what he was trying to say was already stated.

I think this also played at the end of the last episode.
Personally I would rather have "peace" endings over happy endings any day. That is sort of what the end of the children arc was. Song fitted that "peaceful" mood too

The one that was left at the last part was a girl (the sister) and the one shot at the fountain by "Hotel Moscow" was a boy(the brother) they both had their hair cut short so that they could change making the "Feeling" of them both and alway being together Confirmed by the writer of the Manga (Rei Hiroe)

They didn't HAVE a screwed-up childhood. They were HAVING a screwed-up childhood for one. Secondly, they did what they had to to stay alive. In that kind of world I can't blame them for anything they did. No one in that entire anime was completely in the right.

The episode with Hansel and Gretel to me seemed so familiar in that the twins seemed eerily similar to the Anna and Johan from the Monster series..
cross-dressing, murder, psychological/physical abuse.. this really didn't strike me as original when I got to this episode.
