@mrbrang00, i truely find luis cardenas a big rolemodel in my life, due to the happiness he shows in this video, and it is amazing that he was able to have such a huge drum kit that is insipiring
I remember when this song came out, altho the graphics look cheesy by todays standards, it was the dinosaurs were awsome back in the day. nothing like good music, doesnt mater what your mainstyle is, music is music, enjoy it!
@sonofhorror1995 not at all, you will find most of your musicians that are successuful have allowed themselves to be open to all genre's of music, why limit yourself to one style,. and let me tell you, there was nothing like the 80's
@Gecko7291971 Editor: All of the instruments played by the dinosaurs were miniatures of brands associated with Luis and his fellow Renegade band mates. While the bass guitar does look like a Rickenbacker, Luis and Renegade endorsed and played B.C. Rich Guitars exclusively. In fact, the entire band was very close with Bernie Rico, Sr., and remain close to Bernie, Jr. to this day. Bernie, Jr. has a fine handcrafted line of guitars today that are definitely reminiscent of the original B.C. Rich.
I am sooooo glad you put this on. For years I remembered a version of run away with dinosaurs in the video. No one knew what I was on about. Sanity proven! :D
@Kudan26 From Editor: This video is from a solo album released by Luis Cardenas, in which he performs all lead vocals and the majority of the backup vocals. He of course plays all percussion, including steel drums on every song on the album.
I saw this once 25 years ago and it may not have entered my consciousness again till today when I pulled up Chilli Peppers version..This is so incredibly cheesy, that being said a tiny void in my life has been filled... forget Del, was that Donny Osmond calling the cops!?!?
WOW! That's was the word I gave this video when I saw it first-run on MTV. I was never able to ID the performer, so I was never able to get the video itself. I have wanted to see this again for so long -- THANK YOU!
i just wish i could have the album "Animal Instinct" on cd ..... contacted Allied , and Nothing .....I have the vinyl/cassette of it .... But gotta be CD !!!!!
I remember this being previewed for the first time on a BBC2 show called ' NO LIMITS ' which made the tv presenter Jenny Powell famous back in 1986. Priceless
I favorited this video even though its a little pop for my taste. I like it because it just brings back great memories of wheni was younger and when mtv was a kool channel.also he is a good drummer.singer
Love Luis' version of this classic song- He breathed "new life" into an old song we all know...I have the 45 rpm of this song- so glad to see the video- what an awesome job done on the video !!
I remember this vid from when I was about 10 and loved it so much, it just never left my mind, my dad even recorded it on the top loading vcr lol. I just love listening to it, it takes me back to a life of no worries or cares in the world.

@alliedartists oh, OK, i assumed it was a Rickenbacker 4001 due to the shape of the Headstock

nonalignedspace 2 years ago
Editor: Yes, that is Del Shannon at the end and it was the last video he was in prior to his death.
