  • better than Miley

  • Engrish. But I can speak Japlish

  • i hates the jade version i love this one so much more

  • Jade sings with out feeling in her voice. and high pitch was... deafening. This song isn't meant to be sung that high. Koda captured the Lamenting feeling the character has; Jade just shattered this and sang it her way.

  • beautiful!!!

  • So I liked Kumi Koda's version the best.

  • Kumi Koda's version of "A Thousand Words (Sen No Kotoba)" in English was more moving and powerful. She did a good job singing it in English, which she probably does not speak.

  • Even though I fell in love with Jade's one I looked for this one because this one was actually more close to the Japanese version. Lot's of people thought that the Japanese version was better because of the meaning and when I actually paid attention to the lyrics I realised they were right. I mean it even tells the story more. I love all versions equally from now on.

  • lol man.... I remember these graphics being awesome.

  • They had to use Jade's though because her English was clearer - Kuu's English has definitely gotten better since this song though (it sounds pretty good in That Ain't Cool).

  • i like this so much better then jades vr. it has so much more emotions and i dont really like jades singning

  • i like this so much better then jades vr.

  • Her accent is so cute :3

  • ENGRISH! I love it!

  • @Akira1422 you mean Rove it? lol

  • Her accent is sexy. Jade's version is too plain.

  • Jade's version is an easier listen. While I can appreciate the effort Koda Kumi put into this.... Her accent is so unbelievably apparent that it couldn't be used in game.

  • @RyutheWeredragon i think that's terrible. her version is SO CUTE!

  • Good upload. Interesting to hear, but Jade's version is better.

  • I love Koda Kumi's version much better. But for Yuna, Jade's fits more.

  • I like Jade's version better than Kumi's just plain as that

  • I dedicate this to the man who changed my life.. <3

  • In the years after I heard this song the first time, I had tried to find out about Jade, then, I found out about Kumiko, both are great vocalists, Jade does have longer legs though.

  • Japanese artists still need to practice more English... English is her only problem, Koda Kumi 's singing is better than Jade's

  • Kumi pwns Jade. Almost insulting to Kumi that anyone would compare Jades weak ass voice to hers.

  • @aylyese

Calm down! Kumi is not better than Jade and Jade is not better than Kumi. They are simply different. Personnally, I like Kumi's version because it sounds powerful et moving and I like Jade's version because I find her voice prettier and moving in another way.

  • @gael42 Oh lord, it's another one. Opinions. Everyone has one. Not everyones is going to agree with yours. Deal with it, aye.

In My Opinion, Rebecca Black is better than Jade. And in my opinion, it is an insult to Kumi that she is stuck being compared to such a hackneyed wannabe.

Thank you for your concern on my wellbeing, but I am perfectly calm and rational when saying this.

    Jade Sucks. =)

  • @aylyese

Everyone has opinion, I perfectly know it. But I hate when people use words like "shit" or "suck" to explain why they don't like something. It's insulting. You can just say "I don't like Jade" instead of "Jade sucks", that's all.

  • @gael42 What is insulting is that beautiful voices like Kumi and Sugawara can be replaced by the likes of Jade and Leona just to stroke our English speaking egos. Thank god they left Suteki Da Ne alone.

  • @aylyese You know I agree with some of your points and I disagree with others in your lil spaz there with gael42 but I'm not really making this comment about all that. You said thank god they left Suteki Da Ne alone. Hate to break it to you but there is an official version of it in English sung by Susan Calloway. I actually thought it wasn't so bad till I heard that they left the line 'suteki da ne' in the lyrics which sounded way out of place and irked my nerves.

  • @asianmusicfan001 In game.

In game they left it alone.

    Sigh.

  • @aylyese Ah, my bad for the misunderstanding but amen to that!

  • @aylyese In no way does Jade's version suck. Seriously? You sound REALLY biased.

  • @TeeTopKPop You sound like someone completely incapable of accepting that someone has an opinion that is different to yours.

Seriously.. You peeps really need to get a grip. The world won't end because I don't like girly nose singers without a shred of lung capacity. You don't need to try to belittle my opinion. If "I like Koda Kumi, I do not like Jade and Sweetbox" = Bias, then I guess I am. I like Eminem and BigBang too. Xtina Pwns.

But Jade still sucks. *shrugs* I don't get the drama.

  • @aylyese I have no problem if you like Kumi's version better. It's the "Jade sucks" that sounds biased.

  • @TeeTopKPop Based on what proposition? What am I bias about? It is usually a good idea that when you accuse someone of something, you back it up properly, else it may appear that you are being disingenuous using an ad hominem attack to try and reduce the value of my opinion.

  • @aylyese

Oh now, come on ! You can have your opinion but you don't need to be disrespectful for that. And saying "Jade sucks" IS disrespectful to Jade and to anyone who like her. That's all! Is that so hard for you to understand?

  • @gael42 You making my personal opinion about Jades version of this song a personal attack on you is your problem, not mine.

It is also a petty way to once again try and degrade my opinion because it is not the same as yours.

Sucks is, and has been for a very long time, an acceptable term for something that is disagreeable or offensive.

You could say my opinion sucks because you find it offensive.

Won't change it, or my right to have and express it.

  • @aylyese

I see... You don't understand at all... I never tried to degrade your opinion but to make you understand you can express it in a more polite and respectful way. "I don't like Jade" is not the same thing that "Jack sucks". "Suck" sounds like a judgement. Same for "disagreeable". Unlike "I don't like". But it seems you don't want to understand that, you are too much on the defensive.

  • @gael42 Sucks is a judgement. It is my judgement.

I have listened and deemed her version to suck.

    Really badly.

What part of this is not making you realise I am not apologising for having an opinion?

For everything you like, someone hates.

For everything you love, someone despises.

You need a thicker skin. The less time you spend trying to make people like you (be it like your likes or speak the way you want them to), the more time you can watch awesome videos!

  • @aylyese It's probably because people use the name, not the title (like "her version") of what they're doing.

So it's like you say someone sucks,as a PERSON (not a singer or their profession), which could be said as offensive and judging, although is still true an opinion even if it is about the person. The word "sucks" alone, I guess is pretty much acceptable as one that expresses an opinion.

I agree with you most part, but I think offensive opinion about a PERSON should be kept to ourselves =D

  • @aylyese I mean, I think it's perfectly fine to say an opinion that someone's creation sucks. It's our right. Saying "Jade sucks" when it refers to her creations is actually acceptable (there are many language style and I can't imagine a world filled always with nice words either),but is not when it refers to the person just as in "hackeneyed wannabe" especially when we don't know her exactly. It's part of the norm,I guess.I agree on the English speaking ego,tho =)

Just stating, not a fan of any.

  • @frealynn You are making the same mistake as everyone else.

The only reference here to Jade as a person is her ability to sing, and if she were Santa Claus, everyone would hate her, because she has no gifts.

If you can all stop attempting to make my opinions mean crap they don't and keep on the subject here - that she can't bloody sing - then we might make some progress.

Now, for everything you think is personal add "As a singer" before it. Save my character count by staying on topic. Thx.

  • @aylyese 1000 Words - Orchestrated ---> she ist so much better than kumi

  • @Sarakry Nup. Still soft ass cinderella stuff. Sorry.

Give me someone with lungs.. Like Christina. Not these girly singers. Sheesh.

  • I didn't know she made an English version. I prefer Jade's. JS. XD

  • where can I download her version >.<?

  • @sexymantom5

Sorry but the asylum is not here ;-)

  • This video makes me cry ;< bu i still love it! <3

  • Both versions are... beautiful as hell, Koda Kumi's japanese version of this song, made me go "damn" she's really good. But for some reason I listen to this version more than the Jade's version, because this is more different, it really breaks through the shells of many people. I can explain why I love this song in a 1000 words lol.

  • i love this just as much as i love Jada's version, and the japanese version. Is this one itunes? i have the jade version, but i also want this version and the japanese, but i know that the japanese isnt on itunes =(

  • ey, good job!

  • Kumiko's fine, can you fly lice?

  • ehh, i like the jap better Koda ^_^

  • My 3 years old italian cousin knows English better than her. =O

  • I like all versions, but Koda's english version just has something on it that makes me LOVE it...

  • She needs to work on that Engrish a little bit and obviously hasn't over the years. *Thinks of her recent Engrish work*

  • good thing this is not what they choose. Engrish much

  • YAY ENGRISH!!!!!!! :D

  • this is what i was looking for,,,thank you very much...:)

  • I think I'm used to Koda's Japanese version.

I like Koda's engrish tho! haha but I can't rly understand it.

  • @crystalclear21 lol neither could i, but i'm still liking it though =)

  • i actually like all verisons of it. but all of are right. this version is better. even though it's hard to understand. i like the part where Koda sings "Shining wings" rather than "Silver wings" in Jade's version. also Koda Kumi sings it with passion.

  • sniff, why im crying!?!?

koda kumi made it sound so TOUCHING!!!

    BEAUTIFUL!!!

  • i like yuna singing it better....and im not reallya big final fantsy fan! i just like the song

  • I preferred Koda's version as Jade completely was too high and had a voice similar to the frequency of screeching nails on a chalk board.

  • I think Koda Kumi was a better singer, but her "English" is so terrible that I can't tell what she's saying. I definitely understand why they hired a native English singer for the International version.

  • Jade's version had a smoother voice and also better lyrics in my opinion. But you can't deny that Koda Kumi's voice had much more power, despite her butchered engrish.

  • no matter what version i listen to, i always get goosebumps listening to this song~<3

  • Very nice - I think I would've preferred this version (or at least these lyrics) to Jade's. Despite the engrish, she's quite good at singing in english. And even in her english, it still sounds way more powerful than Jade's.

    C-A

  • In my opinion, I think Jade's voice fits Yuna's character WAY better. Koda Kumi IS probably the better singer, but despite that, Jade is my favorite here! ~♥~

  • @PrincessStarAngel7 I wonder why people always complain about Koda Kumi being too low for Yuna's voice. Kumi is not Yuna's voice, she's Len's voice. And if you think about it - Yuna never sings these songs. 1000 Words is sun by Len, Real Emotion is .. well, actually, sung by Le Blanc, and not by Yuna.

    C-A

  • @CatMuto lol if you take it literally :D nice observation!

  • @PrincessStarAngel7 Yeah, I'm pretty much that - probably OCD. It's just that a lot of people seem to not think of it that way - I mean, Yuna kept her original seiyuu for X-2. Why would they change it for the songs? Aoki is a good singer.

    C-A

  • lalalalaaaLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

  • then i must have had damn good luck. when i downloaded the song, i thought it was jade´s version but it was koda kumi´s. at first, i thought it sounded horrible, but now i absolutely love it.

  • i honestly cannot undersstand most of the words she sings because of her accent.....

  • for this one, i think both jade and kumi's are good. Kumi's more emotional and strong but jade's voice here suits yuna's image more (koda's voice is a bit 'manlier' than what you would imagine yuna to sing like) it'd be great if you can have jade's voice with kumi's emotion combine together

  • Regardless of the comparison with Jade's version, Koda's English is in fact way better than most Japanese singers. It's only few words that sound slightly awkward like "wings" and "looked".

  • KUUUUUUUUUUUU <3

  • this song opened my heart to cry forever!

  • her voice doesn't suit yuna's sweet face. her voice is pretty rough. jade's sounds more better and suit s yuna.

  • That wasn't the point of the song though. Lenne is supposed to be singing through Yuna, in the japanese version Lenne is voiced by Koda. Jade sounds to much like Yuna to make that effect. It's one of the minor things that changed something big.

  • but in the eng verison, jade voices for both lenne and yuna and it still sounds better. well to me at least. this was the first one i heard. i liked it at first but then i heard jades. it's more calming.

  • i dont like the translation as much as the other version, but her voice is great and the beats and strums....I'm in love. lol..

  • I actually like this version better, not just the lyrics...but Koda's voice is so much more emotional. Makes the song really hit home...

  • Jade used Koda's lyrics to make the english song. But Koda Kumi sounds cute trying to sing in english.

  • @Firehound105 Jade's vocal rank is wider than Koda's. Koda also can't beat the highest notes of this song. You can't say Koda is better than Jade just because you like one more than the other.

Hard to find, definitely. It's been ages since I listened to this version, miss Koda on the game even though Jade's voices suites better on Yuuna, it's as sweet as her.

AW, loved listening to it again ^_^

  • @justa16thnote . Not quite right. It was "localized" by another guy of the localization team. Hard to say who refer to whom. That could possbily be Koda edited the localized version to make her own English version.

  • KODA KUMI NEVER MESSES UP!

she's perfect in every language in teh world :)

  • I Prefer Kumi's Version. Even Though The Lyrics Are Different and she sunds she's struggling to pronounce the words , she tryed her best = how ever I think jade turned it in to a boring song we all know somehow.

  • no offense but it sounds terrible. srry. jade is a way better singer.

  • koda kumi sang it with a japanese accent, she sang it with her tune in the japanese version of it and it's not bad..it's good..!!!!..the lyrics are a bit different because japanese words are hard to translate...because some of their words have many meanings....awesome voice..!!!don't be mean to her...

  • haha the lalala's make me think she forgot the lyrics or something. but i know its not true.

  • The "lalala's" are part of the song.

  • @SmexiiStevie "La la la la" is a legitimate song line, just ask Limozeen.

  • but if u see the japanese version theres only yuna singing. but the english version has lenne singing with yuna. so yeah jades better

koda kumi sings english far better than the other japanese artist who sings in english. but the lyrics choice is bad and im not feeling the song as jade sings it even if koda kumi sings in japanese.

    alas its just my opinion

  • At first I thought Koda Kumi's version was not as good as Jade's, but the upbeatness of the second half of the song easily makes up for it.

  • this sounds like Koda Kumi! who is JADE?!?

  • Jade is the one who did Yuna's singing voice in the US version of FF X-2, it is quite easily to find it. The version I have uploaded is a rare version sung Koda Kumi with English lyrics! But these lyrics are a bit different than in Jade's version. For instance: "What if I'd shed my tears and

begged you not to leave?" becomes "What if I'd cried my eyes out and begged you not to depart?" in Jade's version.

  • I'm glad Jade covered it.

  • *misses the gunshot part* I always seem to look forward to that...

  • i like koda and jade but jade id this song better in English just for the because koda is not that strong in English just like if jade did it in Japanese it wold not be as good as koda's

  • Indded

  • I hate it when people say an artist sings better just because they like them. I love Koda Kumi to death but she is not a very powerful singer.but she is a great performer. Jade did the song a lot better sorry but from an unbiased standpoint she did the song alot better. singers like koda kumi and ayumi hamasaki do not compare vocally to singers like. MISIA, CRYSTAL KAY, and Sowelu. but they are performers and look pretty i guess.

  • koda's version is way better. it sounds like a real song when koda sings it. I'm not saying that Jade's version isn't good; she's a talented singer, but her version is too "bubblegum Pop" sounding. Koda gives the song that extra bit of feeling that i think not many other singers could add to this song.

  • I think you are basing your comments on the way you feel about Koda Kumi. Please define bubblegum pop because if it means that Jade has better vocals then ok. I mean Im a big fan of Koda Kumi but there are better vocalist. and the word choice for the lyrics were horrible. u saying that she is better is like saying britney spears sings better then christina aguilera .

  • jade's version sounds better of the two in english...yes ofcourse. Koda can't speak english. but, i guess after hearing the japanese one, and then hearing jade's, it's like Jade's version was just not as strong. the analogy of Brittany is to Christina as Koda is to Jade is a far stretch. Christina is definitely a better singer than brittney. but koda and jade have totally different singing styles. jade's technicality of singing is better than koda, but koda's style is way more original.

  • The word choice for the lyrics on Koda Kumi's english version are the translations of her japanese versions so obviously it won't come out the way it's supposed to.

  • who the hell ends a song with la la la la la?

    lol

  • Guessing the lala parts are like to cover up the missing translation...in other words...japanese words which can't be translated

  • Not at all, there are some "lalala" even in the Japanese version.

  • for some reason koda kumi's voice is too deep, but it still good and passionate!!

  • Beautiful.

  • I love Koda Kumi to death, and this version is awesome! i always get goosebumps when i listen to her, but the "Lalalala" parts make me giggle, it's like she forgot the words. i think they kind of ruin the effect

  • i am still 100% for koda kumi. jade is okay, but there's no reaction like to koda. when jade sings, i think "yeah, it's ok". when koda sings, i get goosebumps and tears in my eyes and i can feel the longing and love. no comparison. sorry, jade fans!

  • i think sweetbox fits yuna more then koda kimi. but both are nice.

  • Actually.... Both versions are nice.... Jade's Version makes the song sounds very sweet and cute..... But Koda Kumi's Version makes the song Powerful and Touching!!!

  • This is better version than that in game. :)

  • I like the lyrics of jade's better. No offence.

  • I have to agree....Koda Kumi's version is a lot more powerful than Jade's watery version, despite the engrish. Jade's didn't have any passion I felt. Plus, I like the lyrics in KK's version better than Jade's....but I'm sure that wasn't Jade's choice. XD

  • @SoraKohaku just because koda kumi sings it in english does not mean its good or powerful. it was much better when she is just singing it in japanese. dont just compare it to jade and koda kumi because they have good different strengths of singing in their own language. so dont say that jades version is not passionate or anything..

  • @SoraKohaku

Same here. Jade sounded so blant even though I like her version too. But Koda (just like most of japanese singers) has so much emotion and power on her voise when she sings. :) It's pure art. : D

  • The problem with the song is that Jade's and Koda's version are completely different so you will either like one or the other. Personally I prefer Jade's.

  • Uwaaaah~ I love her version!! (even though it has wrong grammar and pronunciation.) GO KODA KUMI!

  • (Don't have to be) Beautiful but it helps.

  • this just almost made me cry. why couldn't koda kumi have been allowed to record the songs for the english speaking game? i know it's not perfect, but it's so beautiful, jade's sets my teeth on edge. *heart* koda kumi

  • Because the Grating Engrish is ooc for Yuna. Duh.

  • Let's say Koda Kumi totally got speach classes and lost her accent for singing...think that she would still have made the game?

  • isn't it just as ooc for her to suddenly be a singing sensation in the sequel anyway?

  • This video makes me sad.... ;__;

But I like it and the song. ^^

  • je l'aurais aussi super bien vu doubler Paine en japonais avec sa voix cassée ^^, mais bon elle double déjà Lenne

  • Ah bon, Koda Kumi double Lenne?!

  • there were some mistakes in the lyrics.

  • Yatta! Kumi Koda!

  • i prefer kumi koda, she makes me other feelings, jade it's good for pop songs od things like that...

  • koda dose an amazing job on this song but guys jade dose an amazing job too shiny wings? silver wings sounds better for one thing but im sorry i wont rant....i love them both but i prefer jade for the english version though

  • Hmmm i would have prefer to listen to the English translation of the Japanese more than the English Re write.

  • Koda-san singing it i forgot to write that.

  • i love this song in any version its done but so far this is one of the best, its got more meaning in it i think but thats me

  • I heard a song and cried.

  • hey...d voice in d dis english version is kinda different frm d others english version "1000 words".

  • Yeah, it was compleatly diffrent. I think this could the orignal Japaness arts singing in english and japaness I think. Some parts I cant even understand. So its possible.

  • wut is this movie or game about i have seen several vids inculded with some of these scenes it lloks good is it one of the final fanasty games or kingdom hearts

  • It is a video game, Final Fantasy X-2, the sequel of Final Fantasy X.

  • i prefer koda over jade cause koda sounds more emotional and sings it like its from the heart

  • Koda Kumi's voice is simply wonderful, I don't even understand why Square hired another singer for US and PAL releases for the game u_u ...

  • Isn't it obvious? =)

  • i thought she sing, where we you are 2:03 ^^

but she sings wherever you are ,kuuchans english is soo cute^^

  • i kinda wonder why they have la la la la in the lyrics. did it serve some sort of purpose in the japanese version or were they unable to come up with proper lyrics for those parts.

  • la la la la is also in the japanese version - I own the Japanese CD - and it has la la la la in the lyrics on the little boolet thing xD It made me laugh

  • I can't believe how many people didn't know she did an eng version. I like it but Jade's is waaay better. I prefer Kumi singing in japanese

  • Absolutely AGREE WITH YA!

  • 3rd that motion ^^

  • Absolutely brilliant! You're right about Koda Kumi's English version being hard to find; this is the first time I've ever seen 1 (compared to the 100+ videos I've seen of Jade's English &/or Koda Kumi's Japanese version). Thank you; seriously! I've been trying to find out the English translation of the original Japanese song for about a week now! My frustrations are officially nullified :). Again, Thank you!

  • love this version better than sweetbox koda kumi rox the world

  • very good!!

  • i like english.......♥♥♥♥♥☻☻☺☺♦♦♣♣♠♠○○◘◘••

  • Jade forever,

Kumi.... ok she's great, but singing in Japanese

Jade is great singing in english

  • DUDE i fricking commend koda kumi for singing this in english! she is so outgoing, i am really impressed by her

  • Her accent is surprisingly innconsistent. Usually with native Japanese speakers, they have trouble differentiating the R from the L sound. Here, she often does it correctly, but she says words as 'wolds'. It really makes it stand out when she pronounces something in a thick accent when the rest of it can almost pass for normal english.

  • Wow... I love it. btw little peices of the lyrics u posted r wrong. she dosnt say "its no right to me" she said "its not right to me" and its not "shiny wings" its "shining wings". atleast thats what my friend from japan told me when i asked her about it.
