@The1970sInfatuate The volume pedal I have is passive so I don't need a battery or a power cable. Some volume pedals are active so they use batteries but it all depends.
Also, I'm curious to know what you did amp-wise. I, personally, think the Fender Hot Rod series should not be used unless modified, but I don't know Vox amps well enough to know which I'd ultimately recommend, stock (Fencer/Vox typically very different sounds). My HRDx I got b/c it already had a Weber speaker in it which is considerably better than any of those stock Eminences. Anyway, best of luck in the gear world:)
Don't bother changing the tuners, I have the same guitar and I had that problem as well. Just get some nut lubricant from Big Bends or GHS and it will make it so much better.
I like the Verbzilla. It has a lot of different sound options on it especially with the tone knob which gets it to have a dark sound or bright sound.
As for the compressor, I think it works really well. I think it works just as well as the 4 knob version but its just simpiler. If you want you can get a nice country type sound when you pick.
You've got some nice shit thinking about it! :) nice.

Are volume pedals passive? Do volume pedals have to be powered by 9V or is everything passive?

I believe good cables will do much work to your tone too.
God bless :)

don't know if you got a new amp yet but totally go with the ac15...I wouldn't trade mine for anything and it is loud as all get out!
