  • I bet she was and is a beautiful woman and person..may she always be with Jesus..

  • My name is Macy Ferguson-Smith and Willie Mae was my great grandmother. This is so surreal to see my dad (the guy on the far right with the big head lol) and my family on YouTube.

  • @Mace21fly Wow! Macy, you come from a rich musical heritage, I hope you have kept up that heritage. Do any members of you family still sing? Is your dad still alive? God bless you all.

  • @padreq12 my dad still sings and yes very much alive, my sister and i play the piano, and she sings as well.

  • Thanks for posting. I saw this on PBS a few yrs ago and fell in love with it. Real, True Gospel singers.

  • man theres no gospel music like this no more. this is old time CLASSIC gospel!

  • Mother Smith really did live the life she sang about, and she helped and inspired so many other gospel singers. I wish I could have met her. I know I'll meet her some day in the next life. God bless her and her ministry--she's reaping her rewards in heaven.

  • This was awesome I love to hear our ancestors sing meaningful songs because sometimes I feel we often forget these songs..but I"LL NEVER TURN BACK

  • This is awsome, so is GOD!!!!

  • I like this song. Oh, just looking at the late"Mother" sing this song gives me so much inspiration and thoughts to what it would be like reaching the place God would have me to be. Again, I just love listening to the late"Mother"sing.

  • So glad we have the documentary to keep Miss Willie May and her children for the archives. What a blessing to have this on film. Thanks for posting!

  • The great thing about the gospel singer then is that they really live the life they sang about, It wasnt about a show or who could out sang who but when they ministered they gave you a hope. I'm young buti would prefer this gospel over some of this we have today.

  • Thank you!!!

  • @Ministerdlyne I miss real gospel. When it was strictly about ministry. The lyrics were real and you can tell they were anointed.

  • I appreciate how you loop the videos. These are so great, you know we are just going to hit replay anyway! At least you loop them so we don't have to hit replay as often:)

  • Thanks!!!

  • oh GOD !! I love this woman....

  • I wounder is the guy in this video her son. They favor a little.

  • Mother Ford~Smith's son, William, daughther Jacqueline and grandson are all singing wuth her in this video. Her oldest daughter Bertha was adopted.

  • Yes, the male and female in the back are both her son and daughter.

  • Does anyone know if any of Mo. Smith's children and grandchildren are still around?

  • Comment removed

  • Update: I've just received a response to my inquiry. Both William and Jacqueline passed away, within months of one another. The person who responded did not know the exact year this occurred.

  • @San47di Bertha and Mother Smith died very close together, I think within days or weeks of eachother, in the same nursing home. If you buy or rent the 25th Anniversary DVD, it's in the director's comments. I don't know about her grandson. I have always wondered about him. I wish I could find more on Zella Jackson Price too.
