Had the same problem. iMac 24" worked for a year or two then started having video problems around the time when I upgraded to snow leopard. Turned out it was overheating.... downloaded "smcFanControl" kicked up the fan and them problems went away.... have not returned yet. May have baked my video bard good though.... :(
Ok, took it to Apple and they gave me another video card. Kinda annoying cause it's just going to overheat again. Oh well, WoW works and now I rarely play.
download a cmsfancontrol and put your cpu fan and opt fan jus above 2k then that should do it. it could also be a processor problem aswell coz macs will eventually shut down after walking around a while. its really a heating problem than anything but try reduce your frame rate aswell coz sometimes it will go above 60 for some reason.
This is a heat or driver issue, or you macs gcard could be a goner. Update all drivers, leave the mac off for a day then give the game a go. And also I really hope some of these comments are sarcastic if not rofl.
this problem has nothing to do with mac or pc, its video card reading the wow files wrong about what to show and where

I get this time to time. i have a mbp 2ghz with the 256m ati card.
for me it seems to be a heat issue. i have limited the maximum frame rate to 25fps and that helps keep the machine from working as hard, so less heat.
