Yeah, but thats not how it's properly timed, if you knew anything about drag racing you'd know that. You'd also know [if you can ever afford a car worthwhile enough to attempt a track day] that when attending RWYB days [i wonder if you even know what that means] you get printouts of your reaction time, 1/4 mile time, top speed, 0-60 time, etcetc. The start of a 2 car drag race depends entirely on the launch, reaction times win or lose a race, so dont go commenting when you know nothin
Actually, I know of one person by the name of Sean Ivey who was pushing just as much Power as these guys, and had a standard mitsubishi transmission. Google Sean Ivey and read about that tuner. He's the best tuner on the East Coast to some..
im not saying you dont know stuff about cars they have been my passion since i was 11 years old i know alot but the gearbox in that evo aint standard dude
i think your talking about the turbo spooling then hes letting off and your hearing the blow off valve (it sounds like its pulsing) i have no idea what makes it sound like that. all i know is its the type of blowoff valve
The sound is compressor surge, and even though it sounds kool(ok very kool), it stresses the turbo. But to make the sound you probably just need to run maybe 14psi or more, but in stock trim I wouldnt recommend it
I think that's and external waste gate dude. Currently your evo's waste gate is internal. It will make more noise if you have a new 02 housing, but to get that "fluttering" noise when the trottle is closed, you need an external gate. once your off the throttle, that a different waste gate, correct me if I'm wrong because I am NO 4g63 specialist.
yeah its not an ext wastegate, that vents pressure when a set boost is reached under throttle to avoid overboosting. It's compressor surge caused by air passing past the compressor wheel of the turbo going the opposite way to usual, what your hearing is the air fluttering on the fins of the turbo! From what I can gather it's caused by running too high a boost pressure for your dv to exhaust all at once. hope that helped
i so want my suby to be like that haha. best thing i have right now is a 10 sec neon srt-4 will get some vids next race season as the track by my house is closed. gotta love have a nhra track 5 mins away.
