  • You guys do not get it, the power evacuator is just one of many luxury, he is trying to say we can suck this thing with a straw and achieve the same result!!!

  • @AinaRaoelina5 turkey baster!

  • This video is NOT very resourceful, again I repeat NOT resourceful. Next time buddy, do a video that general audience can relate.

  • this is how it should be done!!! the better way, if you are serious, is to do a ps flush so all the fluid in the hoses is removed as well

  • That's great for changing the fluid in the reservoir, but what about the fluid remaining in the pump, the lines and in the rack? (steering gear)

  • Whoops he nearly fell over reaching like that

  • sir, it should be how to use a power evacuator

  • yea but you still have fluid on the system and if you are going to change the fluid for sintetick or a high end one both are gonna get mixed and thats no good

  • @JusticeFlash a good name brand like valvoline isnt too expensive and some systems do take different kinds of atf not just power steering fluid hondas use a special honda type etc

  • when you turn the wheel, you are pumping fluid through the system, and as you fill it up, it moves the fluid through the system ans the draining and filling over time will get you mostly new fluid mixed with alittle old one, thats what the bg machine in our shop does

  • or you could just do it with a turkey baster and save yourself some money

  • this guy is an idiot, the way to do it is to have someone turn the wheel back in forth forcing oil through the system while someone removes the fluid and tops it off with new fluid and use around 4-6 bottles to flush everything out

  • What about the fluid still left inside the pipes and steering system.

Wrong Guide and most of the mechanics makes the same mistake.

  • Guaranteed there is still close to 8 ounces of old fluid left in that system.

  • Most of the PS fluid is in the rack and lines/hoses. This half-assed method reaches neither of those places.

  • I keep mine in my pocket , One never knows when one needs one

  • what a jackass,

  • ????? This guys "oil change special " (1) put car on lift (2) Remove oil filter and discard (3) Spin on new filter (4) lower car (5) Add one quart oil (5) write bill for oil change .

  • ????? This guys idea of a coolant change : drain coolant from overflow and refill , if you want the bottle rinsed out that will be a "coolant flush " if you use a nozzle on the end of the hose used to rinse that overflow out , that would be a "power flush " and cost you extra !

  • This is what I pay $79 at the shop????

  • its sounds like he just ran a mile

  • Turkey Baster costs $1 1/2. And there is still fluid left in the lines & the rack.

  • im sure i could do the same thing with a shop vac

  • i got big hand sucker pump things at the store for about 14 dollars

  • @jayguy173 How long does this procedure take?

  • wow what a pointless video any idiot could have done that

  • Gah... all of these "Draining Power Steering Fluid" videos are using the same stupid method. The reservoir holds maybe half of the fluid in the system; if you're serious about wanting to change or empty your power steering, go for the hose fittings at your steering gear. Just make sure not to run your pump while it's dry!

  • Like most people I just happen to have a power vacuator in my garage...

  • @7tacosdown I keep mine right next to my Flux Capacitor in the basement.

  • @7tacosdown its called a turkey baster works the same!

  • @7tacosdown Then stop being a cheap bastard and buy one....otherwise don't bitch.

  • invest in some taflon tape for your air fittings lol sorry man its just a little annoying..
