John Mayer is certainly not the king of anything, you are right. I personally think myself that if Stevie Ray Vaughan and Jimi Hendrix were still alive, there wouldnt be such thing as Rap, Hip Hop, all that other junk. And even if there was still Rap, Hip Hop, etc, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Jimi Hendrix would certainly overcome any genre of music. My opinion though. I am 15 and im saying this to all of you.

The mainstream crowd he plays for may not "get it", but at least we do have a popular modern artist playing blues guitar in the mainstream! (Although, I'm more of a Joe Bonamassa fan than a Mayer fan. Plus I'd imagine ears like yours and mine can tolerate a Bonamassa audience over a Mayer audience lol)
