....I've never seen a Lib answer this question: How is it that the first birther lawsuit--the one that has gotten the farthest in the court system--is brought by a leading Democrat?

Of course Boehner, or any other Republican, won't denounce the birther's. They are depending on them and other fringe groups to vote for them for no other reason than they are in the party other than Obama.

AND, Racism has nothing to do with my feelings. There are easily a million Black men that could have legitimately ran for President and gotten my vote.

Anyone of them could have established their natural born citizenship and their religious beliefs to the satisfaction of 100% of The People.

WE need not have been embroiled in these two time wasting and derisive issues.

Considering that Obama has not followed through with many of his campaign promises, ANY other Black Man would have been better.

I don't really care if Obama is a Muslim - what I do care about is the "lie" for political expedience.

If, in this country, being a Muslim would have "de facto" (not by law) barred him from being elected, then so be it. "Thems the breaks", as they say.

Roman Catholics (other than JFK) & Jews, Buddhists, Hindus, Taoists, Satanists all have traditionally NOT been considered as viable Pres. candidates. The U.S. IS predominantly a Christian Nation.

His native country, however, is a REAL legal issue.

I never believed in "religious conversion". How you were raised is the religion you have deeply embedded in your psyche. Once a Jew, always a Jew, Once a Christian, always a Christian & Once a Muslim ALWAYS a MUSLIM.

It's not a suit that you choose to wear, or to change out of. In fact, I look with heightened suspicion on anyone that CHANGES their religion.

All religions are vestigial remnants from a time in human history fraught with ignorance. Children are most susceptible to the mumbo-jumbo.

@baldrad1 Of course not. I lost what was taught to me as a child when I grew into a rational modern man. There was a time to believe in Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy, & Easter Bunny & then there is adulthood, when a person is supposed to give up childish notions.

Religions have been at the root of countless millions of deaths.

I wouldn't have any part of such archaic, cultural remnants, rites & rituals of a time before science & the beginning of understanding of the natural world.

Rejecting others' belief systems does not mean you don't believe in something. If you or I haven't extended (articulated) our current belief system to ourselves or others, we cannot by that fact claim that we are faithless; the imponderables (our inability to think in a third dimension) demand that we deal with the those questions by taking some leaps of faith.

@baldrad1 Naturally I have a belief system. It's one were there has to be a fundamental basis in sound provable science for anything to occur. That doesn't require "blind faith" which defines religions. I've postulated, solely for myself & extrapolated from my experiences & learning what I believe to be the most logical purpose for, & end result of "Life".

Things have to fall within the scope of reality. No "Mumbo-Jumbo", candle lighting, genuflecting rituals that are akin to baying at the Moon.

The problem is these people don't want to believe it.The kicker is that facts are true whether you believe them are not.
