@Freitowhisky You can deploy a bradley. tho with a C17.. and hell no that thing cannot be airdropped, the thing with the 105 striker is that you will have WAY fewer rounds than is you use AT missiles, and also.. Mobility again counts upon wheeled vs tracker . Even a modern 105 APDSFS is not same as the AT11 sniper.. bout 600mm RHA penetration for the AT11. and i say 350 400mm RHA for the 105 APDSFS

The Russian and American Armies are the only ones i think, that can deploy airborne divisions, but only russia has the BMD and have Armored Antitank Vehicles into an Airborne Assault.

@Freitowhisky i think my friend that its not true beacuse here in portugal we do the same thing we deploy pandurs panhards vbl howitzers etc etc so if we can do so as the rest now tanks thats a lttle bit more dificult but like we say here if its biger than the our planes rent russia 5 antonovs! like we did before hehe and it helped

@tuga8492 Vozdushno-Desantnye Voiska , translated as Air-landing Forces, The thing is that you cannot compare the mobiltiy of a tracked vehicle and a wheeled vehicle, in my opinion any major roads or such would be heavily fortified in a hostile zone landing. and also, the 105mm you have fewer rounds, as by a 30mm cannon you can use as anti personal and anti light armour, the thing is that none of em would be able to stop a tank, so depend on the kind of deployment you have your battlefield.

@tuga8492 and the lifting capacity you have.. and also i`m not sure the Pandur fits on the C-130.. the thing is that you need to deploy the bulk of your forces in a short time, and the BMD, you do not nescessary need to spend a IL-76 to deploy, it can be deployed in a IL-12.. so you have more troops going in hot, and more AFV`s..

Notice at 0:15 to 0:29 the Russian transport aircraft have an overhead crane system to load light tanks on airdrop runners/pallets without need of a separate MHE front-end loader truck at the airstrip...
