@panterax1990 really? bullet for my valentine?? all the others are good.. but distured is really alternitive though .. if your meaing the there old school stuff...
@muffinzilla The Ring Modulation, the Chorus, the Tremolo effect...and of course that tone! He REALLY was a true genius when it came to making a song sound THAT much better than what it was on surface with all those lil gizmos and fx! :)
@TheDorianTormak That i do not agree with. people can say what the want about "the greats" but dime is the greatest. "not trying to sound like a fanboy or anything" but dime just does things with the guitar nobody ever touched on. he had sounds and ideas that no one to this day has even had the balls to think of trying. not just in metal tho. he just was a great guitar player. he played what sounded good, not what theory would tell him to do.
I kind of agree, Dime had so much fucking feel in his guitar playing it was unheard of. You can tell he really loved to play his music because he really made sure to put himself into it. He was one of the last few true musicians.
yeah zakks better at alternate picking and stuff, but dimes styles is just so defined. you know EXACTLY whos your listening too when he starts shredding
Fuckin great. Love to hear Pantera's influence on this one (and many others on this cd). Dime playing like it were 1992 and Pat Lachmann does a Phil-like scream at 3:06 Damageplan was awesome, but they should have gone more back to basic... I just dont like the studio magic on some parts of this disc, but damn, these songs kick ass.
@KustomKulture420: Exactly. Of course it can be fun some time to do some electronics in metal. But I liked PanterA's raw sound a lot more than the sometimes a bit overproduced Damageplan. Don't get me wrong, it was an amazing album with some killer songs and riffs and Pat did a good job vocalling this record.
yeah, this came out in 2004, but the style of this music is very 90's that is like superjoint ritual...yeah they released stuff in the early 2000's but the style of music is a 90's style. it is not a big deal, it is just a fact so embrace it.
