  • Thanks! This was very helpful, as I am getting ready to replace a PVC line in my attic with PEX, as recommended by my plumber. The PVC has burst twice during the winter (even though it was insulated), causing water damage on the ceiling, as well as running down through the wall and onto the floor in my den.

I'm ready to use PEX to solve my headaches.

  • I prefer the small cinch tool, since it it easier to get into small small places...

  • I notice that the clamp tool is cheaper and can be used on all sizes, whereas the crimp tool is specific only to one size and is more expensive. Isn't it more practical to get the clamp tool, if they are both equally reliable?

  • i am curious of this answer too. To me the choice was easy ; clamp rings and tool. but i'm an electrician... what do i know.. ha

  • so you can change from pex to pvc ... just like that ? amazing...

people in the usa are changing to pex ? or stil with cpvc

    thanks

  • @verdecapo becouse pvc is most dangerous and toxic plastic for plumbing needs

  • @MrDerekplumber ABS is the most toxic. Go back to trade school.

  • @MrDerekplumber PVC is not used for water supply.. Only waste drainage and venting. also, pvc is not at all toxic, if anything the glue for abs is the worst.
