Granted, Pacey had a tough youth - but, he's so whiney & self indulgent. He was constantly insecure and jealous of other people's triumphs. He ruined his relationship with Joey from the start because his insecurities over Dawson & he felt the need to blame Joey for all his short comings. He was a senseless stupid character with little to no growth who continued to make the same mistakes. Realistically, Joey & him would never work. She was determined to do well, he resented her for it.
@korganoc Actually, I'm not really a fan of the Dawson/Joey pairing either lol I prefer Pacey with Andie, if I'm going to be honest. I found his character developed better in that storyline, there was growth & maturity - As if his character was made better because of the Andie character. When the Joey/Pacey storyline took place, he went back to being the insecure, "I'll never leave Capeside" guy - Then blamed everyone else & lashed out at them for his own lack of ambition.
@Apsitis The reason why Pacey was insecure with Joey was bc of her ties to Dawson and what was going on with his life at the time they were together. When she should have been caring about her bf's feelings, Joey was doing things like telling Dawson that she and Pacey weren't sleeping together (if the person you loved was saying that to their ex, anyone would be hurt). At the same time, everyone else was figuring out their future, and Pacey was dealing with not getting into college.
@Apsitis He didn't resent Joey for doing well - he resenting himself for being jealous of her. He always felt that Joey was too good for him, and they needed to break up so that he could find success on his own and not feel like he was dead weight.
And please don't tell me you don't understand his so called "lack of ambition" is directly tied to the way his parents treated him. It took both Andie and Joey showing him he was more than nothing for him to start treating himself that way.
Jen: If you ever want to be reminded of it, you can just watch Dawson's show. What about that girl the cast as me? ugh, I've often thought about getting a lawyer and suing his ass.
Joey: Well, at least you get to have sex, all I do is mope around and pine over Petey then Colby then Colby then Petey...
The Vampire Diaries remind me a lot about Dawson's Creek, not only cause Nina and Katie are kinda of look-a-like put also because Elena doesn't have the chemistry with her so called "Hearts desire" Stefan as she has with Damon (who like pacey has dark hair). I kinda hope that TVD ends up like DC! :D
i miss the Dawson's Creek... :( i miss all the casts specially Katie Holmes and Joshua Jackson... they are my old time fave loveteam on television... this is the only TV series i watched for the longest time... for 6 years! im an avid fan of theirs... just wondering where are they now? i mean James Van Der Beek and Michelle Williams? i know Katie is happily married with Tom Cruise. Joshua Jackson has a TV show "Fringe"
omg pacey and joey are so meant to be i love them together ... i mean hes funny sensative loveable and everything good in a guy and she is poetic fearful and pacey takes that fear and takes it away i love them so much
The fact that Joey chose Pacey is a tactical move by the writers. In American dramas people only care about their careers and love-lives. If Joey had chosen with Dawson then Dawson would have Joey and an amazing career. Pacey would have nothing but that restaurant. This is too depressing, too unbalanced therefore Pacey gets the girl and Dawson has the Career. Joey wasn't all that anyway. If I were Dawson I would've given up completely from the point when she had sex with Pacey.
It may have been a tactical move at first, but the bottom line reality is that J&K had incredible on-screen chemistry. I was a D/J fan season 1&2, but the truth is that James and Katie never had the same chemistry. We believed Joey and Pacey. That's why the writers had Joey choose Pacey at the end of season 3, and that's why they brought them back together during season 6. The kiss in Clean and Sober was almost 2 years after Promicide but it felt like no time had passed.
@ecaepevolhturt Line by line: Any decision regarding a character's direction can be considered tactical. Recurring themes in the show, and these conversation threads, are true love and soulmates, so love-lives are a big deal. Based on the last four seasons of the series, why would Joey have chosen Dawson? Dawson could get by without Joey because his work was always where he located his passion. Dawson and Joey were always better friends than lovers. Much more could be said on this subject.
Joey picked the food fight at just the right moment. lol It just wasn't the time for the two of them to get all mushy and emotional for each other and it would of been easy for that to happen but that didn't mean they couldn't have a good time together. Laughs are a great way to get through a hard time. lol :)
xD Well thats odd!. Or when come 2 think of it everybody has different taste. I think Kerr has a really gourges face. While pacey He is cute and all but I dunno he seems a little bit chubby,
i have to say that if you look at it, pacey is her true soulmate, if you look how varied their relationship is. for deep issues to playing like kids. the only thing that joey and dawson talk about is being eachothers soulmates.
Joey's speech made a lot of things clear. Dawson is her 'soulmate' and 'tied to her childhood'. Her love for him is innocent and pure. If she had chosen him, it would have just been her wanting to keep everything in her life the same. With Pacey, she can move on and face new challenges. That's why she has fought it. Dawson will always be there, but a relationship with Pacey is a risk. I'm glad she stopped running though, because they were meant to be together!
"I know who I'm supposed to be with, I've always known" I love this part!! She knows she loves Pacey as a boyfriend and Dawson as her best friend ever.
