It was my understanding that Congress has 30 days to approve all EO. If they don't act within those 30 days then it becomes law. SO, if this is in fact true...then why isn't Congress doing something about stopping this type of Presidential power?! Again it falls in the lap of our illustrious elected voices in Congress.
It is quite clear in the International Immunity Act that the President has the power to do this by Executive Order. There does not seem to be a review process. That should change.

Let's be clear here. OBAMA DID NOT GIVE INTERPOL IMMUNITY. Reagan gave them immunity which is set forth in section 2(b) of the International Organizations Immunities Act. Section 2(b) has always applies to INTERPOL since Reagan signed his EO. Clinton rescinded section 2(d) which may have covered the registration of foreign agents (this is unclear since Reagan was not clear on what portion of 2(d) was exempted). But it was Clinton that removed that anyway. No new agency or dept. with this.

There is nothing in the EO that establishes any such thing. If another law has been passed or another EO that I don't know of please enlighten me to it. This EO rescinds some exemptions from immunity that were in effect for Interpol and does nothing to establish any section of the Justice Department.
Interpol operates INSIDE the Justice Department. Regan gave them diplomatic immunity with EXCEPTIONS, big exceptions. Interpol records are now beyond US citizens FOIA requests. Bye bye American legal and investigative discovery process. That also includes Congress. Thats a BIG BIG deal.

I would aver that as an international agency they were immune from FOIA requests anyway as the FOIA only applies to US government agencies. Its a little tricky because a lot of these alphabet agencies, black projects, and TS clearance people have immunity but most of their assets can still be reviewed by some classified individual if necessary. This supposedly gives them full immunity where no matter what their assets are secret. Lets face it though nothing ever remains secret. I'd imagine there are several other agencies and organization with the same power... ICC next!
none of them have immunities written into law, which is what executive order is. Interpol is a sub section of the Justice dept. We can talk about what this and that's other agencies might have as far as immunity (and that might be true) but none are legally except from congress or the constitution. This changes it Obama just committed the clearest example of treason (see blacks) since he took office.

Giving this further thought, the executive order would enable them to store and hide illegal surveilance information within Interpol so as to avoid a Nixon watergate type of scenario. No court could supeona the info., and no agent carrying info. could be searched. It would also provide a dandy method for importing or exporting large amounts of money, valuables, or drugs for our corrupt bankers, CIA, politicians, etc. It does have a number of possibilities.

It was my understanding that Congress has 30 days to approve all EO. If they don't act within those 30 days then it becomes law. SO, if this is in fact true...then why isn't Congress doing something about stopping this type of Presidential power?! Again it falls in the lap of our illustrious elected voices in Congress.

I must admit that even I fell for the "new" youtube video of the guy from Iowa with Obama birth certificate in hand. Originally, there was to be a date set for this case for Jan. 26, 2010. However the case was dismissed as the document was found to be fraduelent. All thingss said; the air is still ripe with the stench of fish. Let's be clear here. OBAMA DID NOT GIVE INTERPOL IMMUNITY. Reagan gave them immunity which is set forth in section 2(b) of the International Organizations Immunities Act. Section 2(b) has always applies to INTERPOL since Reagan signed his EO. Clinton rescinded section 2(d) which may have covered the registration of foreign agents (this is unclear since Reagan was not clear on what portion of 2(d) was exempted). But it was Clinton that removed that anyway. No new agency or dept. with this.

There is nothing in the EO that establishes any such thing. If another law has been passed or another EO that I don't know of please enlighten me to it. This EO rescinds some exemptions from immunity that were in effect for Interpol and does nothing to establish any section of the Justice Department.

Interpol operates INSIDE the Justice Department. Regan gave them diplomatic immunity with EXCEPTIONS, big exceptions. Interpol records are now beyond US citizens FOIA requests. Bye bye American legal and investigative discovery process. That also includes Congress. Thats a BIG BIG deal.
Just imagine being accused of a crime and your defense team having no access to the records normally turned over during discovery. Thought Bush was bad... just wait.

I would aver that as an international agency they were immune from FOIA requests anyway as the FOIA only applies to US government agencies. As I said in the video it is not good what has been done, but it is not the whole truth as some have made it out to be. Rescinding the section 2(c) exemption is awful of course, as noted.

My *guess* is this will give Obama a loophole to ram the gitmo people through the system, find them guilty by default and allow him to pretend a "fair" trial took place. I can't believe that 2 of the channels I subscribe to.... posted several "birther" videos in the last few days. I thought these channels were fairly accurate and informative. I left a respectful comment and immediately un-subscribed. The extreme fringes grasp onto anything they think will further their own partys agenda, and many times, they appear like lunatics. That goes for the left and the right. Not many people seem to be able to step back, and form opinions for the good of the country.

Its a little tricky because a lot of these alphabet agencies, black projects, and TS clearance people have immunity but most of their assets can still be reviewed by some classified individual if necessary. This supposedly gives them full immunity where no matter what their assets are secret. Lets face it though nothing ever remains secret. I'd imagine there are several other agencies and organization with the same power... ICC next!

none of them have immunities written into law, which is what executive order is. Interpol is a sub section of the Justice dept. We can talk about what this and that's other agencies might have as far as immunity (and that might be true) but none are legally except from congress or the constitution. This changes it Obama just committed the clearest example of treason (see blacks) since he took office.
