The video interprets the lyrics in a slightly "dirty" or "naughty" way -- not necessarily at DEVO's direction -- but the actual lyrics are pretty vague and to some extent nonsensical. The same thing is happening with this song as happened years ago with "Whip It" which attached meaning that wasn't technically there in the lyrics. Anyway, it's all good and I love this song. I even love that it CAN be interpreted the way a lot of people are interpreting it.

@edscerbo I just heard the song for the first time a few weeks ago, and the double-entendre never occurred to me - I interpreted it as a mad chase for higher meaning in life. The fact that it can be interpreted as a mad chase for LOWER meaning in life at the same time is funny/awesome.

This album is my introduction to Devo, and it's an excellent first impression. :D

I remember my friends being embarrassed to hang around with me when Devo's first record was released in the USA - everyone seems to forget that people thought you were deranged, homosexual or perverted if you listened to them in public in 1981. I don't know exactly when it became 'cool' to like them. Then, there were the Talking Heads - a record store clerk looked at me like I was nuts when I bought one of their 1st records. Oh, WELL!
