Taliban & Al-Qaeda Warriors World's Best. The West has killed less than 500 known Taliban & Al-Qaeda. The rest had to be called "Suspected Militants". There are 6,103 US KIAs. Al-Qaeda gets credit for the 2,900+ killed on 9/11. The US didn't kill one of the 19 Al-Qaeda Warriors who invaded the US, not with stealth bombers, F-16 fighter jets, drones, cruise missiles, but with $0.79 box cutters. US cost for Wars $1 trillion, 214 billion+. The Pentagon & CIA paid Taliban & Al-Qaeda's cost.
God Bless those A-10's. Nothing sounds like one of those things coming in. I don't care how muslim, or how radical you are. That GAU will put the fear of Jesus in you when it starts humming.
When America nuked the two Japanese cities they killed 140,000+ innocent people. Another 2 million died in the next 5 years. They have bombed civilians of Chile in 1973, and killed 50,000 Vietnam war and killed millions N. Korea and killed millions Libya in 1987 and killed 15,000 Iraq and have killed over a million Afghanistan and have killed 300,000 palestine and killed millions They disregard human life for victory. Yet their acts are not terrorism?
@Bleakunending The airforce tried to get rid of it. When they found out that the army wanted to have all their A-10's that they wanted to get rid of all of a sudden the air force liked the A-10 again.
Imagine someone never having seen a plane. Imagine they see this footage and listen to the sound of that growling Avenger cannon reverbing off those mountains. Then show them a picture of an A-10 with one of the toothed paint scheme variations. That's a dragon.
@Jalfmar3 they really do think that. afghans in the korengal valley thought that we "emerged from the belly of the beast" but really it was Soldiers exiting a chinook helicopter on a mountain top.
@joseph299 As a former Scout/Ranger that has called in many a airstrike in my life , I must very respectfully tell you that in this case you are dead wrong. All A-10s are flown by either Air force , Air force reserve or Air national guard pilots. The army ceased to fly fixed wing fighter, attack or reconaissance planes after the formation of the Air force and the disbanding of the old Army Air Corps.
I don't even want to see the aftermath of that. Think around 50 rounds per second, each the size of a milk bottle and travelling several times the speed of sound. Not getting up from that, I'm afraid.
@08Superman25 it's called "Forward Observer". Yes somebody thought of it, and it's an actual job. Believe it or not the Army and Air Force play nice sometimes. That's why we have separate branches of service fighting the same war.
@MattHeaven i know there is such a thing, i actually do work with them, but if you know anything about their job you will know that they have no such authority to control fixed wing aircraft unless in an e-cas situation, and even then, 9/10 times its probly an air force JTAC controlling it through him from a near by fob... not saying your wrong just saying i probly i know a little more about something like this than you considering it is my job... unless your a JTAC also
@08Superman25 I get what you're saying, but you still need eyes on the ground from the ground, and the JTAC isn't that guy. So regardless, of who actually tells the pilot to fire at what, the Army or Marines are still fully trained on how to walk in air support just like IDF. If you want the eyes on the ground to do a more precise job than write a letter to your congressman to change the SOP. I guarantee they're doing exactly as they were trained, which is probably what the AF asked for.
@MattHeaven lol actually if you know anything about the job, JTACS are on the ground also.... dunno were you get your info, but in my job (happens to be JTAC) im on the ground operating with army infantry units, and mechanized infantry units... and yes we do go out on missions...
@08Superman25 The only time JTACS go out on missions with infantry is if the mission already calls for air support AHEAD OF TIME. JTACS are not embedded in every infantry unit in theater. If they were, then they wouldn't be a JTAC, they would be a permanent position in the Army. Therefore there will always be a lone forward observer out there calling in air support from the AF, Army, or Marines.
@MattHeaven LMAO actually they go out even if there isnt air on station.. i know ive went out on to many missions to count where air wasnt requested prior, and also they are AIR FORCE JTACS so that way the army ground commander cant order his own troops to drop on an illegal target, thats where the sanity check comes in on the air force side and they can say yes or no. @08Superman25 well it's funny how I've been in the Army for over 10 years, and not once, ever, on multiple deployments and duty stations, have I ever seen a JTAC permanently imbedded in a unit going out on all their missions with them. I've seen more free-lance camera men imbedded.

I did a PowerPoint presentation on Why They (Terrorists) Hate Us that caused some jaws to drop in my class (it's not because of "radical Islam," which is what I used to think). Check it out here and pass it on:
@crazyfreakypunk The camera mic doesn't do the sound of that gun justice. When you here one it doesn't sould like a fart, it sounds like some kind of mechanical monster roaring. It's truly a frightening sound. And it echos over a long distance.
At 0:10 those two smoke trails are actually the exhaust from the Avenger. That might give you an idea on how far away that A-10 is. The muzzle velocity is 3,500ft/s, which means that those 30mm rounds leave the barrel at mach 3.1, or 2,386mph.
All in all, if you do the math (using the proper equations) you should come up with the minimum amount of rape the A-10 Warthog has at any given moment. You can also find out the exact amount of win, but that should be common knowledge by now.
The Islamofacists have fired surface-air missiles at coalitian planes on a number of occasions with increasing regularity. It was one of the things that surfaced in the big leak of pentagon documents on Wikileaks. Although the mujahideen got Stingers supplied by the US in the 80s, the batteries on those will no longer be functional, so these new ones are being supplied via Iran or even via elements in Pakistan's ISI that support the Taliban.
It's all part of the procedure pilots do when attacking. This is when the term "train as you fight, fight as you train," comes into play. The pilots are trained to release flares after making a run, so they tend to do it in combat. In combat against a conventional force, the flares would be used as countermeasures, as the A-10 is very vulnerable when turning away to set up another run. But we have tactics and technology to help eliminate this vulnerability.
PLEASE Watch these videos - Lyndon LaRouche explains start of WW III . or - The Obama Deception. here on youtube. Google - Abolish Federal Reserve Petition. and sign it
@a1excool433 cause since the flares are hotter than the engine it makes the heat seaking missles go for the flares and not the A-10. Then they break away from that spot so the missle goes to the fares not the plane
dear god i miss those days as unconfortable shitty and dirty... i dont talk to anyone anymore and i miss the stateside army posts.. those people active duty. please pray for our troops.. they need us.
Gee agbailiff I read all that tech stuff in militaryairpower magazine back in the coldwar. its not exactly top secret. It is and ancient but effective weapons system that was almost s crapped at the end of the previously mentioned coldwar. came in handy in the original desert storm.......
@nexus1g The M-16 A2 doesn't it only had semi auto, and three round burst. The military assumed it would help conserve ammunition and make for more accurate shooting in a fire fight. I think they have all but abandoned the idea. The new M4 is semi, and full auto.
@Darkhunter218 I think your confusing that with a CAR variant M16 A2. Colt Armory made some design changes when they introduced the M4, gas ring, buffer tube, etc. to accomodate a cyclic rate of 750 rounds per minute.
@CoolLikePenguinNuts What I'm saying is the military variant M4 our guys use is semi-burst fire capable only, Some get the M4A1 model which is semi-burst-full.
You are correct and I do mess up on the keyboard. I did have 2 Chicom AKs in Vietnam. Oh, I forgot to say that I was an Infrantry Officer with the 101st in Vietnam,,,,not NVA.
i love seeing the 2 puffs in the air, the rounds hit, THEN you hear the "brrraaapppp... bbrrraaaaaapp" ahh supersonic bitches, SUPER-SONIC ! ! ! ! ! !
So the only solution in that terrain there would be small computer controlled helicopter drones. I am an engineer of electronics and I can help you to implement that solution.
Who are you talking to? I actually have a position open for something with an engineering degree and experience. Job is in Lompoc, CA. Relocation expenses may be provided based on experience.
sorry in advance, i'm going to get all picky. It's actually an "Avenger" cannon in an A10. A Gatling refers to a specific gun built in during the civil war. Many people refer to any rotating gun as a Gatling, but that is incorrect.
Both the 20mm M61 Vulcan and the 30mm Avenger are rotary "gatling" style autocannons.
@russcarljohnson Actually, the term "Gatling" refers to any cannon with multiple rotating barrels. Why don't you at least try to understand what the fuck you're talking about before you get all self righteous?
@Joshuadrooney It depends on which hair you wish to split. Gatlin's in my eyes are civil war era rotary barrel guns created by gatlin. however, either use is technically correct.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
There is more then one type of gatling gun you fucking idiot. The Vulcan Cannon is just what GE decided to fucking name it instead of just "Gatling Gun" which is a gun used in 1800s USA.
It's pretty much a gatling cannon. Revolving barrels is the definition of a gatling style weapon. Gatling is the name of the inventor from the civil war who developed that weapon. The Warthogs cannon is nicknamed vulcan/avenger. for clarity's sake
Choppers may be more accurate, but the A-10 can get higher air-speed and altitude. It can get to the battlefield faster that a chopper. Plus, the sound of that vulcan cannon buzzing away gives terrorists yellow underwear.
true, but Su-25 got the job done and was cheap. Originally it didn't have advance electronics equipment and wasn't able to do night operations but the Russians upgraded enough to be comparable to A-10s. imo attack helies are better close air support : /
Yes, but they are also more vulnerable to small arms fire. Now that they finally upgraded the Warthog for precision ordnance and that will give it quite an edge.
While our planes can kick the Russkies asses, the Su25 is at least as tough as the a10, the frogfoot can take a hell of a beating. The a10's cannon is far superior to theirs though
the speed isn't that bad. you kind of want it to be slower so you have more time and plus a-10's are monsters. they're unbelievably tough. a-10's went back to base missing one of their engines and part of their wings blown off.
Wow...just imagine what fear the enemy must feel when they see and hear that sound...or maybe they dont feel it at all...cuz they are propably dead before the sound reaches them
I'm an A-10 weapons tech for the Maryland ANG. The gun is a 30mm GAU 8 Avenger made by General Electric. It fires approx. 3600 rounds per minute but the drum capacity is only 1174 rnds. There are 3 types of 30mm that we use:
1-TP a steel slug for target practice. It's blue.
2.-AP Armor piercing this has a small depleted uranium slug inside of a larger tungsten case, It's black.
3.-API Incediary/explosive this has a small amount of explosive in it. It is red and yellow. Combatmix=4API,1AP
OPSEC you stupid shit! or do I have to remind someone at the OIC level to tell their dumbass weapons troops to STFU about the weapons specs about their goddamn weapons!
The army, air force and navy all contribute to the ron paul campaign more then any other candidate republican or democraic. You owe it to the troops to find out why. Support the troops by finding out more about ron paul, and supporting ron paul.
Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr brrrrrrrrr, glad im not a terrorist, if I were a terrorist and I heard that gun i would shit myself. Amazing plane. Su-25T is very close and capability to the A-10, but being American I lean towards the A-10
I love the sound of that buzzsaw =]

Gee agbailiff I read all that tech stuff in militaryairpower magazine back in the coldwar. its not exactly top secret. It is and ancient but effective weapons system that was almost s crapped at the end of the previously mentioned coldwar. came in handy in the original desert storm.......

I think it was a 16 with full auto. A 1911 always works and so does the AK.
82abnoff 2 years ago 7
@82abnoff M-16 trigger packs come with a full auto selection?
nexus1g 10 months ago
@nexus1g The M-16 A2 doesn't it only had semi auto, and three round burst. The military assumed it would help conserve ammunition and make for more accurate shooting in a fire fight. I think they have all but abandoned the idea. The new M4 is semi, and full auto.
CoolLikePenguinNuts 8 months ago
@CoolLikePenguinNuts M4s only have Semi-auto and Burst-fire, Only M4A1s have full auto capabilities.
Darkhunter218 7 months ago
@Darkhunter218 I think your confusing that with a CAR variant M16 A2. Colt Armory made some design changes when they introduced the M4, gas ring, buffer tube, etc. to accomodate a cyclic rate of 750 rounds per minute.
CoolLikePenguinNuts 7 months ago
@CoolLikePenguinNuts What I'm saying is the military variant M4 our guys use is semi-burst fire capable only, Some get the M4A1 model which is semi-burst-full.

saucher88 3 years ago 5
Hell yeah. But it is a Gatling Gun not a Vulcan cannon.
MiltyB7R 3 years ago 4
sorry in advance, i'm going to get all picky. It's actually an "Avenger" cannon in an A10. A Gatling refers to a specific gun built in during the civil war. Many people refer to any rotating gun as a Gatling, but that is incorrect.
Both the 20mm M61 Vulcan and the 30mm Avenger are rotary "gatling" style autocannons.
russcarljohnson 3 years ago 32
@russcarljohnson Is this the A-10 thunderbolt, AKA a-10 warthog? Did they use this in Afghanistan?
3333sweetie 1 year ago
@russcarljohnson that Avenger is huge if you saw the picture
EdgewaterUSMCJROTC 1 year ago
@russcarljohnson Actually, the term "Gatling" refers to any cannon with multiple rotating barrels. Why don't you at least try to understand what the fuck you're talking about before you get all self righteous?
Joshuadrooney 1 year ago
@Joshuadrooney It depends on which hair you wish to split. Gatlin's in my eyes are civil war era rotary barrel guns created by gatlin. however, either use is technically correct.
manmanguy 1 year ago
@russcarljohnson True but I don't think it really matters when the lead's coming at you.

There is more then one type of gatling gun you fucking idiot. The Vulcan Cannon is just what GE decided to fucking name it instead of just "Gatling Gun" which is a gun used in 1800s USA.
stormfox1 3 years ago
It's pretty much a gatling cannon. Revolving barrels is the definition of a gatling style weapon. Gatling is the name of the inventor from the civil war who developed that weapon. The Warthogs cannon is nicknamed vulcan/avenger. for clarity's sake
shoelessjoeh 3 years ago
dont worry about being picky atleast your right
crouchtrac 3 years ago 3
Choppers may be more accurate, but the A-10 can get higher air-speed and altitude. It can get to the battlefield faster that a chopper. Plus, the sound of that vulcan cannon buzzing away gives terrorists yellow underwear.
GrievousCommander 3 years ago 10
i have heard that the terrorists call the a-10 silent death. mainly cause you don't hear the weapon fire until it hits the target.

Su-25 blows ass compared to the A-10. If I was on the ground I'd want the A-10 up there backing me up, not some Russian piece of shit.
Orkomagic 3 years ago 6
true, but Su-25 got the job done and was cheap. Originally it didn't have advance electronics equipment and wasn't able to do night operations but the Russians upgraded enough to be comparable to A-10s. imo attack helies are better close air support : /
adobo777 3 years ago 2
Yep, I'd like to have an Apache or Cobra for my CAS because it can pick off targets faster.
Orkomagic 3 years ago
Yes, but they are also more vulnerable to small arms fire. Now that they finally upgraded the Warthog for precision ordnance and that will give it quite an edge.
Triggerhappy91 3 years ago 3
While our planes can kick the Russkies asses, the Su25 is at least as tough as the a10, the frogfoot can take a hell of a beating. The a10's cannon is far superior to theirs though
panzerschranz 3 years ago 5
primorsky-
the speed isn't that bad. you kind of want it to be slower so you have more time and plus a-10's are monsters. they're unbelievably tough. a-10's went back to base missing one of their engines and part of their wings blown off.

Eurotrash4367 3 years ago
thats the A-10a isn't it? The A-10c's here that landed in Travis (they came from Nellis i believe) were able to hold 1,350 rounds of ammo
