  • 8. Jason Becker

  • @Marijan30 that doesn´t count, nobody gets to that level

  • If he didn't real all those bracelets and rings to weigh hi hands down, his fingers would break the speed of light, causing miniature black holes with each note. This is known as Malmsteen's Law.

  • this guy's a jerkoff

  • Hagrid? It's you?

  • They even made the like button larger than the dislike button and yet people still manage to click the wrong one. Really...

  • So... we meet again 240p...

  • Why does this one have so little views? It's one of his best!

  • Love his scalloped frets.

  • Alguien me puede decir como se pronuncia el nombre del guitarrista y la cancion por favor.

  • @elweropeliculero No sé sueco, pero siempre he oído Íngvui Málmstin - Blítzkrig,

  • Sorry haters, but Malmsteem rocks. His phrasing is incredible, his finger vibrato sounds as good/better than guys who use a whammy bar, and the fluidity of his playing is amazing.

On the internet comment page, hating is a sign of jealousy, which is a sign of covetousness. In other words, guys who spend their times on Yngwie's videos posting insults are just expressing their burning desire to be as good as Malmsteem in their own insecure way.

  • 3:08 -> amazing.

  • UN-FUCKING BELIEVEABLE.

  • dont dis yngwie you asshole

  • @fashioso

    fuck you

  • this video is great... you dont see the stupid face of yngwie.

  • Impressionível!!!

  • AMAZING! YJM IS GOD!

  • 1:12 = My Personal Orgasm Moment

  • There are many naysayers out there who I suspect for largely envious reasons knock Malmsteen's talent but the guy fucking rocks and I don't know many who have such amazing control of their vibrato... I mean seriously the only other guys who come to mind are Vai, Gilbert, Gary Moore. You may not like the "style" but you got to give the man his due. Malmsteen kicks SERIOUS ass...period.

  • Malmsteen has his generic licks...but you know...he got alot of people into the shed back in his day and you can always tell its him playing...unique...people hate on him....but he has his sound...some players NEVER find a sound...

  • holy fuck, he barely moves his wrist when he picks the intro. that is amazing.

  • blitzkrieg is a war strategy used by adolf hitler to posses Europe, a great idea to name a song :)

  • @DreadCrawler It also fits the song. The translation of ''blitzkrieg'' is ''lightningwar'', so a war as fast as lightning, to surprise the opponent. That's exactly what this song says in my opinion :)

  • @shenkeey sure dude,i imagine lots of slaughtering in a short time, and the taste of victory hahahaha just sick

  • Such a fantastic player with such amateur composition. He always gets carried away, and never reprises any good themes. It makes everything sounds so random.

  • @Ethan314159 ya man he said in an interveiw that he doesnt like practicing because that impies playing the same thing over and over

  • DIVINE! DIVINE!! DIVINE!!!

  • Omg.

  • anyone know the secret to yngwies tone and technique? its so brilliant

  • @jellytroid

Tone: The use of DiMarzio pickups

Technique: LOTS of sitting at home playing slowly and taking it inch by inch

  • @jellytroid DOD 250 OD pedal, marshall tube amp, fender strat with dimarzio pickups and a scalloped neck. The Yngwie strat is about $1800, I'd recommend buying one, best guitar I've ever played.

DOD doesn't make pedals anymore, so I just use an Ibanez tube screamer. Tone is similar. A lot of his tone comes from his picking and fingering technique though. Truly impossible to replicate

  • @KyleStonehouse check out ben wilshire. he does a DAMN good job of replicating yngwie's playing

  • @jellytroid tone : gear technique : practice

  • @jellytroid thousands of hours of practicing alone in his room

  • NO other.

  • i especially love the part at 1:12 through 1:35 blends perfectly into the intro of the song and very epic sounding

  • @lestervai loool

  • @iloveyouDeee: dude, i'm a Slash fan. but Malmsteen is the God of all guitar Gods.

  • LONG LIVE THE ONE THE ONLY MAESTRO!

  • 4 people wants to see Justin Beiber holding guitar.

  • jAOJAjoAJOajoAJOAjoaJOAjoAJOA...i explote whit this comment: 4 PEOPLE ARE SLASH FANS!! JAoaJaoj

  • Some Fan : Malmsteen why don't you play slow classical songs?

Malmsteen : Because I can play it FAST.

  • 4 people are slash fans

  • He has like 23457 of those guitars o:

  • I <3 Yngwie. I <3 this song. that is that.

  • I raped the like button :)))

  • @XecutionerDee I raped the replay button. It is now officially my bitch

  • master vibratosss!!!!

  • I only can play can play the part from 0:30 and 0:32 =(

  • HERE IT COMES!!

  • easy.

  • that drum intro, so good, and yngwie malmstein, what a guitar monster!

  • i like it

  • its not that other players are not as good as yngwie, i just like the minor classical music feel and badassity of all yngwie's songs

  • Yngwie is good. Petrucci is good. Batio is good. Many are good.

But you know what's better? Listening to all of them, instead of bitching about which one is best, and hating the others.

  • tremendous

  • If you look really close you can see a donut box in the background.

  • if i could just have his hands..and his talent.. that would be great :l

  • wow. dude that is sooo intense. but i dont like the strat. fender strats are kinda gay.

  • If you look real close you can see he is using the pick of destiny lol

  • @shaolinadr hahahahaha. bong of destiny might be it.

  • \m/

  • what is funny though! (this is my two cents about the yngwie bashers)...If people who dont play music at all, or even do and don't play the guitar. Will think yngwie is genius, and is a very very very insanely good guitar player (which he is!). And people who play the guitar, and claim to be god at it. are like 'lolol, yngwie sucks compared to them", they're just haters for no reason...and for me personally, i hated the sound of all shredding until i found yngwie!

  • i played this for my freind, and he was like, "does this guy ever use any notes that last longer than three beats?" and the great thing is, he doesnt

  • Anyone knows what equipment does Malmsteen use in this video?in my point of view..it's the best sounds from Malmsteen..and the most powerful sound of single coil..

  • @c4bb4g3

your an idiot.i want to see you playing like thet }-$

  • The Frequency of some of the notes are fucking up my headphones but who gives a shit

  • If only I had that right hand picking technique...

  • teach me...

  • very good player. It bothers me that people say he was better in the past just cuz he was in better shape too.

  • he makes it look easy...........

  • vai and malmsteen are 2 different kinds of guitarists, dude. that's like comparing stevie ray vaughan to eddie van halen.

  • @DennChooch

Yeah Vai is a Cock and Malmsteen is a master.

  • @figaz555 In your opinion. You should respect both guitarist's though.

  • I could do that but I dont want to...

  • Why do you even acknowledge that crap? Deep in your penile area you know it's not true so just ignore it . All your doing is furthering their cause

  • Comment removed

  • serious, whta the hell, the video says yngwie Malsteem on it...if you dont like him, then why the hell did you click on the video. "oh he sucks,Blah blah blah is better" No cares about whatever artist your talking, each artist has their own style, is there is really no such thing as better among guitar players. to those saying whoever is better...you really just came here to get some attention.

  • @Nightmare551 I agree completely. someone was talking like Malmsteen was a complete joke to me and how Kiko Loureiro is so much better just because he plays multiple genres. Honestly, who cares? Why is it impossible to enjoy BOTH guitarists' approach to the guitar? It's really not that difficult imo. plus, Malmsteen's style is unique; no matter what shredder you listen to, none of them sound like he does. When you hear him play, you know it's him. People need to get over themselves.

  • Damn, his notes were super clean. His songs are basically one big solo.

  • .....Here it comes

  • can somebody please tab the 3rd lick for me please? i know the 1st two but the 3rd im not so sure. itd be greatly appriciated!

  • how come yngwie is so awsome?

  • What I will never understand is this... If you don't like Yngwie Malmsteen, then why are you watching this video?

  • @IKraidenI pinche morro.. como eres zorra

    a criticar a otro lado!

  • adding diminished notes is surely amazing XD

  • yngwie blows me the hell away - saw him finally a year and a half ago and he was amazing!

  • Comment removed

  • what do you think is the hardest yngwie song ...personally i think its trilogy suite opus 5 or this....EPIC WIN SAUCE IN A BOTTLE!!!yngwie is all that and a bag....3000 bags of potato chips

  • Whats amazing to see Yngwie do, is being able to keep up with his solos on improvisation. I know when I get to an intense part to any song I do and I want to improv, its way to exciting and intense that I cant really do exactly what im thinking... Its like an overload with me ROFL! Its great to see yngwie control himself in almost every sort of manner. Mind you im not long in the tooth of the allmighty guitar xD!

  • His picking technique is the best.

  • Comment removed

  • 2:16 to 2:43 simply amazing vibrato and awesome lick too!!!

  • I love it from 3:10 he goes totally crazy there

  • malmsteem and frank marino have always touched my metal soul this piece is an excellent example of why yngwie is considered one of the best ever

  • He is the guitar God.

  • Speed is only one element to Yngwie's work. There's, voice, phrasing, tone, dynamics, creativity, attack and more. I like as well, MAB, and, he has more elements than speed, he really does nail screaming harmonics perfectly. The thing for me that favors one over the other is Michael's sound is a bit over processed for my taste.

  • and hes retardedly sick at bending

  • every guitarist has more elements than speed unless you fucking suck (example being Alexi Laiho)

  • @Steve128967

Totally, a decent guitarist that can play out in public has way more elements than speed. Ah man, I never heard of that Alexi Laiho guy, he is not even fast, he is straining just to do 16th notes, he has a long way to go for sure.

  • His chops are okay, but his solos all he just does is go up and down some fuckin' scales, has some sweep picking and occasional tapping, and isn't very good at any of them. He doesn't even have any real phrasing, and just has one idea after the next with no fluidity!

People are like "rofl yngwie just sweeps all the time (which is totally not true by the way)" but Alexi is one of the few that fits that.

  • lol dude u apparently dont know Alexi Laiho. Actually he's good at all 3 techniques imo and he plays solos in the concert just like he does in the studio and thats a big plus, and his licks r mayb scale sweep and occassional tapping but they sound really good composing to his chops...

I think both Yngwie and Alexi are pretty good but Yngwie sweeps much more and his playing is more complex, while Alexi sweeps a bit less but has some nice licks that fit his playing

  • ask anyone, it's a well documented fact Alexi is sloppy live and doesn't seem to care, and in some cases he even feels that's a good thing.

malmsteen - great tone, chops, phrasing, vibrato, etc.

alexi - bad at picking, rarely shows any legato skill except during tappity tap bullshit, is annoyingly overrated, has no real phrasing or dynamics.

  • @Steve128967 you've obviously only heard Yngwie once or twice. his phrasing is quite well-developed if you pay attention.

  • i'm not insulting Malmsteen at all. I agree that he has great phrasing.

  • oh, my mistake. I didn't realize you were talking about Alexi. Alexi used to be one of my main influences as a guitar player, but he's going downhill nowadays. Yngwie's always been great; I don't understand how anyone can claim he's bad.

  • Probably because they just watch either this or Arpeggios From Hell and assume that they know everything about him without even listening to his music. lol

  • what bugs me the most is when people say "yngwie sucks! (insert other shredder's name here) is much better!". at that level of technical skill, there is no "better" it's just personal preference concerning playing style. I enjoy Becker more than Yngwie, but I respect them both as far as technique goes. Both are incredible. Same with Vai, Gilbert, Petrucci, Loomis, Loureiro, Batio etc. If people really understood the nature of shred, they wouldn't be bickering over who's "better". It's irritating

  • lol i like all of the above guitarists you mention, including malmsteen.

is malmsteen using a cheap strat here or his signature strat?

  • @nehneh10 Cheap... no lol its a fender, but it has scalped frets... which means there cut in... look it up on google. it Makes it so much easier to sweap and speed pick., Steve Via has them on his higher frets for when he sweaps up there

  • If only it could also help with your spelling

  • @nehneh10 Yngwie wouldn't use a cheap strat,period... If he isnt using his signature he's using custom strats....

  • How 'bout: No one can play better than him here. Same stands for Gilbert, Batio, Vai, whoever..

  • @c4bb4g3, I personally agree with your statement

  • @c4bb4g3 You're right, and without Yngwie, there wouldn't have been shredders. He influenced lots of guitarists.

  • @c4bb4g3 First of all: There are better ones. Yngwies playing sounds best for me but the technical seen MAB or Della Vega are MUCH better.

And second. Steve Vai is one of the greatest overrated guitar losers of all time. Hes always playing the same motherfuckin shit, does not have any musical talent. Its so easy to play Vais stupid shit, hes just fuckin a Poser.

And third: Better don't call me a guitar noob, I can play that song and Im just playing guitar for one and a half year...

  • @NevermindXY Your second point truly shows how ignorant you are. Post a video of you play Vai's music and we'll see how easy it is. You're forgetting he replaced Yngwie in Alcatrazz and played Yngwie's music, so he has talent. I'm not going to call you a guitar noob, because your words stated the obvious.

  • @bnosam You don't have analyzed Vais playing, have you? Yngwie often plays the same, right, but his licks are quite difficult. Vais licks are very easy and its always the same. Vai replaced Yngwie in Alcatrazz, of course, but listen to his solos - wait - better listen to for the love of god: He tries to shred in the end and he totally failed. He's a poser who thinks hes awsome but does not wanna practise, just like Eddie v. Halen or Satriani.

  • @NevermindXY Lmfao your last statement just proved you're trolling.

  • @NevermindXY EXCUSE ME!?!?!? VAI has more emotion and more skill in his songs than yngwie will ever!! he does practice! have u heard the songs "tender surrender" and "whispering a prayer" ? apparently not. cuz if u did ud relize that Vai is an amazing guitarist. he is my personal favorite and to say ANYTHING against him or his level of skill disgusts me.

  • @nejikid Iv heard them now. Okay, he was better a LONG, long time ago. But Yngwies songs are even harder than that. I wanna just remind you on his (Yngwies) harmonic moll scales (Longforms) Arpeggios from hell, etc. Vai plays SOMETIMES the same, but just the SHORTformes. Short Arpeggios, short scale runs in common. And they are much easier. Vai plays not as clean and plays always the same (Just as Herman Li-no comment please!). Just take a look at For the love of god...

  • @NevermindXY herman li sucks xD

  • @abelbm98 Yep

  • @nejikid Ah, and I forgot: While watching the video you should take care about having a barf bag lieing next to you. Just for the case...

  • @bnosam Ahh, sorry I forgot: I will post a video of me playing Vai (but with own parts, otherwise its embarassing) in the Moment where I get a cam or something like that. And yes, Ive interpreted out of your comment that you do call me a guitar noob. So how long do you practise E Guitar on one day? Im doing it for about 9 hours (with brake its about 11 ~12 hours) a day in the weekends and for about 3 ~ 5 hours a day during the week...

  • @NevermindXY I practise 2 hours on average, mostly due to the fact, I actually have a life outside of my bedroom. Then again, I can see your social skills are lacking by the way you're attacking musicians you don't like, and are completely disregarding their impact on music. Also, you're getting pretty angry at me. Keep it civil and grow up.

  • @NevermindXY Your such a joke, and there is no way you can play this song fluently if you have been playing guitar for only a year and a half. Also, saying Vai has no talent just shows how fucking ignorant you are, how the hell is he a poser?

  • @c4bb4g3 well i guess at that level you could then judge on how many other styles they can play this well. from that perspective, bucket head would be pretty close to number one.

  • @vgrzen34 you could if music was a contest. the point I'm trying to make is that all of these guys have massively impressive technique and that people should just shut up and enjoy each artist's different approach to composing guitar music. Buckethead and Malmsteen play radically different styles of instrumental music; I wish people would just learn to appreciate the music instead of bickering over pointless drivel, like that NevermindXY guy is about Vai's music on this vid.

  • @c4bb4g3

Becker was an over rated Cock.

  • @figaz555 next time you troll, try not to be so obvious.

  • @c4bb4g3

Next time you speak you may want to clean the shit out of your mouth that you just ate.

  • @c4bb4g3 dude u cant forget buckethead... he is borderline god...

  • @c4bb4g3 yay!! you aced it. thank god everyone on youtube isn't a retarded slug.

btw, if you have band in a box 12, and its for mac, i may need help getting it to work..

  • @c4bb4g3 You sir are a wise YouTuber, thing only you and Chuck Norris share!!! You seriously must know something the rest of us must not know!!!

  • @c4bb4g3 same here, i've said this a lot of times in youtube and got just insults xD

  • @abelbm98 then tell those people to go hump a cabbage

  • @c4bb4g3 wisest youtuber ever!!!!
