  • wow why havnt i seen this before? My god...such an amazing performance

  • there something very heavenly about this music it just 9mins 11sec of sheer bliss one of all time favourite instrumental thank you srv and rip.

  • This is amazing song but for me his best slow song is by far Tin Pan Alley!

  • fantastic music!

this song was witness of magical moments...i really miss!

  • Nine+ minutes of pure heaven. My go-to, soothe-my-troubles, so-happy-I-could-die, just-want-to-be-alone song. Love this. And love Stevie forever!

  • Una obra maestra ......no tengo nada mas que decir

  • this is great stuff..

  • 5:40 Stevie's got long nails :)

  • Can someone tell us what is the nickname for the techniques used btwn. 6:30 to 7: 02.

  • @Twoosy He's just plucking the strings above the nut, then using the trem to vibrato it down.

  • @Twoosy Behind the nut on the head stock of the tuner he plucks the G string in the very midpoint between the tuner and the nut distance with his right hand and then with a crossed over left hand depresses the whammy bar and bends the harmonic of the G note down slightly.

  • I know this is in1989,but what year did he write this

  • @2001imsofly ~ He put it all together in 1989, after a full day of recording material for the In Step album, Stevie asked his producer to clear the room, leave the tape running and to turn down the lights. While alone, he recorded the guitar track on "Lenny." Tommy, Chris and Reese added the backing rhythm and organ parts later. It was not about a Jana or any other woman. It was a prayer through his guitar as thanks for his sobriety.

  • @luvjasmin Correction: it was Riviera Paradise, not Lenny.

  • @2001imsofly He mentioned that he was writing it in an interview in Japan in '85.

  • here's another proof that pros don't usually go for ridicolously low action but practice makes them perfect :)

  • @seasonedtoker right toker? And don't trim their nails and don't need their fingers perpendicular to the strings.....

  • There you have it folks,it don't get no better than that

  • The absolute best performance of this Song...ever !

  • no wayyy thats "the" reese winess lol wowwww

  • QUE HERMOSOOOOOO ¡¡¡

  • Heaven sent music of the highest order... SRV RIP...

  • Such a beautiful song, This guitar was only used in the song (Lenny) until he wrote this. These where the only two song he play this instrument on Live! the guitar was the only one of his collection to have been sold after his death. it was bought for him by his wife Lenora (Lenny) for $350 sold at auction for $ 658000!

  • @thurm4308 Yes, and the winning bidder of "Lenny" was Guitar Center, chain of Music Stores, and "Lenny" is displayed in their Hollywood CA Store. Stevie's Brother Jimmy has #1, Stevies most Famous Guitar.

  • @Rev1Kev Yes I know this Jimmy should not have a thing of Stevie's he has and always been tagging along on Stevie's success ! jimmy does not nor ever will have the talent of his little bro !!

  • @thurm4308 wow that is so far from the truth ! You obviously know dick about either of them , so you need to keep dumbass opinions to your self! You should be less single minded and listen to jimmy its a different style and he never tried to be Stevie , Ever heard of the Tbirds ?

  • @joshjaccard24 Your ignorance is shocking not worth a reply from me ! BTY is the Fabulous Thunderbirds !

  • Thanks, Stevie Ray...in the midst of all the rushing around, there is so much hurt, misunderstanding and suffering. Tennessee Williams put it best in "The Glass Menagerie"--"...attempting to find in motion what is lost in space"...pure pleasure for the ears...thank you for posting!

  • HELL YEAH...Stevie....

  • can anyone tell me what he says at the beginning?

  • @farishtaleal "This one goes out to everybody who's still suffering, in anyway."

  • @farishtaleal "This goes out to anyone who is still suffering in any way." He opened this song saying that many times.

  • When was this recorded???

    It's amazing...

  • @ifrahag 1989 (It's in the title)

  • SRV putting the soul into strat....... spine tingling stuff man

  • Let's see, today's artists versus a Stevie Ray Vaughan. Justin Bieber versus this guy? Can anyone tell me who can match this guy in talent today? This is epic.

  • I feel privilaged and oh so lucky that I got to see this man LIVE in St. Louis, MO.

  • This is Stevie's masterpiece. Shows what a true genius he was and that he was much more than a heads down blues rocker. If this song/video doesnt touch your soul you have no heart. Stevie Ray: coolest of the cool, baddest of the bad.

  • 5:17 Chris Layton misses a beat :O

  • brilliant...just brilliant!

  • eargasm!

  • i love it at 2:36 when he uses the same riff and goes through all five different pickup positions on his guitar. the different sounds that guitar and he can make are overwhelming.
