  • Written and performed by Steve Harley.... yet it could easily be a Duran Duran song. They took this song and made it their own!

  • so awesome to see where they started and where they are now.....hope they're around for a long time to come!!

  • Duran Duran at their best. Loved it when Andy was turned up a little too much.

  • blue eyes blue eyes...we can tell lies lol

  • i had the 12" vynil of the reflex and this was on the b side.. this is a great version of a truly great song..... love it

  • @fastfreddy918 I did too! God, I feel old.

  • fantastic!

  • I don't know if someone can understand me...

I have been in London this summer. I have always loved DD and so I went to see Hammersmith Odeon one day...

DD played there a lot of times

Believe me, I'm not a teenager anymore but....It has been like to come back in the time.

I know I'm crazy, because I'm talking about 1982...but in that moment I was a 16 years-old girl who was with her friends waiting for the concert...waiting for THEM.

I don't know if is this normal or not.. you tell me!

  • @KINKANOS it is normal...it happend to everyone with passion...to feel that way is magic and don't let anyone tell you different...I did this with them at Madison Sq Garden when they had the reunion and with Rick Springfield

  • @KINKANOS I am actually writing a book that includes some of these experiences

  • why did they include this and not last chance on the stairway or lonely in your nightmare.

  • I haven't seen this since MTV showed it in 1982....THANK YOU!!!!

  • John so cute cute cute cute cute Iloove himmmmmmmmm !!!!!!!!!

  • I love Andy's pants and belt! I would so wear that (with a shirt.) I hate how Andy's guitar skills are always undermined because he was in, well, Duran Duran. I wish people didn't rag on them so much....

And I love John in general. He is the sexiest man to have ever lived. HIs clothes are fabulous, as well.

Duran Duran pwns! maybe not live, but they've gotten a lot better in performing recently.

  • Watch Simon`s lips very closely. There are certain sections of the song which makes me convinced he was miming!

  • @captainbimble it's youtube quality. why would he be miming anyway?

  • i'm 42, seen them twice, would see them again and again, love this song tho, my favourite, love you boys xx

  • first heard this on the full monty

  • I'm also approaching 40. Saw them at 15 and it seems like yesterday. What a hottie that Simon is! Would love to see them again!

  • At the beginning he says "Just listen..."

... but, of course, the girls are all screaming so loudly, they can't hear him. ;)

Oh, to have seen them in concert in their hey-day!! ... I would have been 12 when this was filmed ... and finally went to my first concert last December, at the age of 39. LOL!

  • the best then and the best now.

    long live duran,,,,,

  • gawjus simon

    love the hips swinging

  • I first heard this on a movie soundtrack, I think it was a movie with Lara Flyn Boyle.

    I love this song.

  • simon is smexy

  • sometimes i think they should outlaw covers but this is amazing even better than the original

  • This reminds me of why I used to fancy JT... phwoarghhhhh!!!

  • I saw them perform this with Steve Harley at Hammersmith in 1982.

    Superb!

  • good, but not as good as Harleys original version

  • I hate cover's but Duran Duran gave this a more up beat 80's groove..like it better..but not by much!

  • It should be noted that Duran Duran didn't write this song. It was written by Steve Harley.

Still, fantastic performance! John's so cute in his fedora...

  • I cannot imagine anyone not knowing that!! (I mean do disrespect to your post though)

  • I came I went & I saw they were fantastic & still are

  • I bought "The Reflex" on 7" and then ended up playing the B-side more. Still do - until I can find it on CD.

  • There was a box set of the singles on cd came out a couple of years ago, and it had this as a cd. Greatest song performed by duran duran ever, beats seventh stranger and careless memories anyday !

  • Most excellent. Still got this on 7". This is right up there with "The Seventh Stranger" as best DD song.

  • not many have heard of it, shame really.

  • This is my very favourite DD song ever!! I grew up with their music and found this on the B side of the reflex. The guitar riff is just awesome thanks for posting this. x

  • I said too lots of people about this song and they just looked at me "emm what song". The best ever by Duran Duran.

  • HOT!

  • How I wish I was born 10 years sooner. I would have loved to see these guys in the 80's. It actually makes me kind of sad to think of it. This video is just brilliant.

  • I was sixteen that year, i understand what The Beatles generation felt, because this guys had a three years at the top of the world

  • I swear to God, there was nothing sexier or more swoon-worthy than these boys in their heyday. I still get goose bumps watching this. Thank you thank you thank you.

  • que hermoso tema

  • Hmm, who's playing the key's in this?

So Nick just triggers pre-recorded tracks?

Watch his hands in this clip, he's clearly not playing the piano, or whatever it is, at the beginning of the song.

  • then you know nothing of keyboards

  • the greatest!

  • WOW!!

I had this recorded on a TAPE in the 80's.

    Memories...

  • ive never seen them perform this... great! thank you.
