well i loved the idea of a mutant that absorbs anything mechanical and can manipulate items to its will, however, this episode didn´t explain anything. Where did it come from? what was the mutant's animal base? It was really hard to appreciate the creature with little to go on.

They never needed to worry about Monique's detonator setting off the nuke. In order for a nuke's payload to reach critical mass and go nuclear, all the explosive charges around it have to detonate at exactly the same time on order to achieve the right compression. If even one of them goes off too early or too late, no big bang. Just a "dirty bomb," as it's called.

Still might have killed them at close range, though.

Randy, being the techno-genius that he is, SHOULD know that if that nuke had gone off at the altitude depicted (assume 240-300 mi.), then it would've created a massive electromagnetic pulse, crippling the U.S., Canada and such.

Blowing up Baghdad wouldn't have been their worry. The ensuing destruction of everything electronic in North America would.

@samurixxxx I like how Godzilla is clearly pulling his punches with the military lol he's hitting every chopper when he's attacked in just the right spot that he doesn't kill the pilot, and they can parachute to the ground (how you eject from a helicopter is beyond me, but whatever)...if he wanted he could instantly fry them with his beam but he seems to know not to kill them.
