  • would u imagine if one of the people that tell the airplane to come, u know on the ground with those green sticks, got into that engine by mistake. that would be a painful death x 1000

  • ROLLS ROYCE ENGINES ARE VERY LOUD!

  • @SkyWestCRJPilot YES THEY ARE VERY!!!!!!

  • @SkyWestCRJPilot TBH I'm not realy sure which is louder, maybe the RB211 "buzzsaw" is louder than the Pratts? but I do know that the RB211 was considered quieter, and this was one of the factors that prompted airlines such as AA to order 757s with RRs.

  • RB211s might be more powerful, but they weigh more thank the PW2000s on the 757.

  • @0:11 look at that noob with the stroller,OMG better move ou ttha way hahaha

  • man that sound goes right threw your head when you standing near one of those

  • They don't fly commercially into the air station no airline does the jet was just there for an airshow=)

  • unless troopes are headed out, ive seen this elsewhere. sometimes airports are not practical

  • i talked with the pilot of this plane in 2007 at the show

  • Does Delta fly into Pensacola NAS now? I know the main airport gets 757s? Nice video will be added to my favorites.

  • No, it was just for the airshow.

  • Is the registration N610DL? If so, I flew on it in the summer of 2004 before being painted in the special scheme.

  • yes, it is

  • I was there, we were going to walk through it but we heard the 'bang' of the fa-18 spinout crash and ran to see what happened.

  • ooooooooooooooooooooooooh, omg!!, sericus i have been in that plane b 4 at a airshow? really a i haved!

  • are those P&W or GE engines?...I thought almost all B757 got Rolls Royce engines?

  • Those are Pratt and Whitney PW2000 engines.

Delta was the launch customer for those.

  • PW2037s to be exact. The 37 indicating they are the 37,000lb static thrust rated variant of the PW2000 series engines as you mentioned. I believe United uses the PW2040s.

  • Most B757 operators use the Rolls engines. The Rolls Royce is far superior.

  • Well Pratt's are safer for the environment and saves like 8 or 10 % more fuel. This particular one is a PW2037 which has 37,000 lbs of thrust which is less than the rb211-535 blowing 40,100 lbs of thrust. But there is another version, the pw2043 which has 43,000 lbs of thrust even more powerful than the rolls royce. United uses that version. In my opinion PW's are more efficient.

  • yeah, millicha is right, and also the pw2000 series are less noisy than the Rolls Royce rb211 series. That's one of the reasons delta prefers them. With less noise is more comfortable for the passengers.

  • The PW engine couldn't compete with Rolls on so many levels. The most significant was that the PW engine didn't make TBO. That's bad news for operators like Delta and one reason RR powers the majority of 757's worldwide!

  • No, on the contrary its the RR that is the less noisier out of the 2, its one of the reasons why most of the 757 operators chose the rb211.
