@emerpus01 I don't think any pop-rock song would be capable of altering peoples views, especially not when a self-proclaimed Marxist who is avowedly supportive of the USSR and East Germany sings them. Even in his suicide note he said something like, "Socialism isn't perfect, but it's humanity's best hope."

Don't forget he also sang plenty of leftist songs like "Freedom," "You," "Venceremos," etc. He actually got less popular over time because people associated him with state-run propaganda.
